Since the Prime Minister has remained silent on the Richard Frederick issue and Richard Frederick has seen it fit to blame everyone but himself, St Lucians should take matters into their own hands.

I would like to encourage St Lucians to contact Transparency International to make sure we can assist them in carrying out their surveys in this country so that we can be included on The Corruption Perception Index for
the year 2011.

I wonder how the Business Community will feel about that ….

In the meantime, St. Lucians should start reading the information on the following website:

http://www.transparency.org

Corruption Perceptions Index 2009

 The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) table shows a country's ranking and score, the number of surveys used to determine the score, and the confidence range of the scoring.

 The rank shows how one country compares to others included in the index. The CPI score indicates the perceived level of public-sector corruption in a country/territory.

 The CPI is based on 13 independent surveys. However, not all surveys include all countries. The surveys used column indicates how many surveys were relied upon to determine the score for that country.

 The confidence range indicates the reliability of the CPI scores and tells us that allowing for a margin of error; we can be 90% confident that the true score for this country lies within this range.

Rank: 22
Country/Territory: St. Lucia
CPI 2009 Score: 7.0
Surveys Used: 3
Confidence Ran ge: 6.7-7.5

The 2010 CPI covers two countries fewer than last year’s edition. The slight change resulted from individual sources adjusting the range of countries they assess. These adjustments in coverage made it possible to include Kosovo for the first time, but led to the exclusion of Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname, for which only two sources of information were available this year.

Good point, John Harris. As a matter of fact, I favourited TI over two years ago.

I shall forthwith contact Transparency Internation and forward them all articles pertaining to Richard Frederick diplomatic visa's revocation, wikileaks documents on Richard Frederick, and forward them the youtube link where Richard Frederick is blaming EVERY SINGLE PERSON but himself.

I thank you for such wonderful recommendation.

As usual we look to "de system" rather than ourselves. The truth is that irrespective of the political system we will corrup it to our own ends.

If we chose to be indecent, jaded and vulgar as we see in our society then that is what we will get as our political system.

We have lost our values therefore we have lost our chance of improving our quality of life.

Our political system is different than America's, America is a republic and we are not. Up here in Canada, we have the Westminster style also and it works, so if you want republic style then move to America.

There is no question the entire system of electing representatives needs to be overhauled. For instance it would be ideal if the heads all four parties would debate each other at a public forum and take questions from the audience, questions retating to their manifestos or what they intend to achieve if elected to office.

This would be more meaningful and productive than the customary blockos and verbal attacks on opponents we are subjected to at election campaign seasons from time immemorial.

PICK INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES WHO HAVE NOT BEEN TAINTED. Those who have NEVER run for office before, who are UNTARNISHED, who have NO SMELL OF CORRUPTION on them, and who have some job experience or work experience that would be useful for an MP to have to do his or her work.

All the backers of this nasty, loathsome and corrupt UWP cabal some call a government, including the disgustingly CORRUPT Mr. Chou FROM TAIWAN too, should be EXILED from the country. We need a coalition of clean candidates with CLEAN HANDS, bad, bad, bad! UWP and their talk-show hosts are so very nasty that just thinking of them makes me want to puke!

The media has failed the people. They must get back on course to being the vangard of the people instead of chasing sleazy gossips and innuendos.
