Resignation? From Saint Lucia to the TCI!

Great article! Indeed Dr. Raymond is more qualified and credible than Kenny's small clan in Cabinet. Some persons have painted the Dear Doc. as someone who should have been satisfied with his post since he did not win the election.

To those unempathetic, selfish mongers like Earl Bousquet I ask did Fletcher(a horticulturist) and LaCorbeniere (lawyer) deserve to be placed in key ministerial positions when they did not endure the hardship of brutal constituency campaigning that Dr. Raymond and other team Labour individuals endured? What qualified those two gentlemen to be given ministries while a qualified medical doctor and Economist could not serve in capacities where the skills could be best utilized?

I love Dr. Lewis but if such matters are not resolved quickly by the leader, I (along with my entire family) will not vote at the next general elections.

Nice article. Well Put!

We love you Dr. Raymond, and don't mind King asking you to come over. Once things are resolved on our side where leadership is concerned you'll be alright. You have my vote anytime.

Let's face it. Raymond does not have the balls to lead any party. He is better off where he is heading. A Phdor being a professor is no indicator of leadership.

I always know Dr. Raymond to stand up for what is right and just. He is a no-nonsense person. I am very happy that you did not let me down. You are a man of integrity and I am happy you did not let me down. Be true to who you are. May God bless you and your family.

I am baffled at the level of envy and ignorance being spewed by the few Bloggers who are trying to down-play Dr. Raymond. I am sorry to admit that I too tried to belittle the man until I met with him and had a thought-provoking and enlightening discussion.

I am still embarrassed at those efforts and feel ashamed of those who are trying to do so. It is undeniable that Dr. Raymond is truly a man of integrity and character and leadership.

Kenny obviously did not get a chance to know this man, and it is my hope that our PM did not rely on the gossip of the haters (sadly of whom I was one of)that cause him to compromise good judgement and decision-making. A good leader cannot be held down...Dr. Raymond you cannot be kept down by anyone because God is guiding your footsteps every step of the way. You are my leader and mentor...please do not ever compromise your standards.

Leader and mentor, well stay the hell out of politics. Stay in the ping pong section because that not for softees.

Above: which is why we have the level of politics that we do (SMH). Oops! My apologies, I elevated our politics to a level.

It appears that my party indeed used Dr.Raymond and his qualification/experience in Economics. It's becoming more and more evident to me that Kenny has not changed his ways. My government seems to believe that their clanish group of Fletcher, LaCorbenierre, Kenny and others deserve to survive big at the expense of poor SLP supporters and others.

What did Ubaldus Raymond do to Kenny and his clan to deserve such poor treatment? Is it because he was able to challenge Kenny while the others simply couldn't? Is it because Kenny felt that Fletcher deserves the ministry of Energy, Technology etc over Dr. Raymond who has experience in the field while Fletcher doesn't since his expertise is in horticulture? Could it be that Kenny was afraid of Dr. Raymond's competence in Cabinet? Could it be that this is simply pure evil and selfishness at work among Kenny and his clan?

There are still too many unanswered questions that Kenny and Ubaldus need to answer. One thing I am aware of since I have worked with the man is that he is a competent worker, and one who loves a challenge especially in Economics.

The Kenny Administration's strategy for socio-economic development is to create NICE, SMILE, STEP,etc! I think voters voted for Kenny just because of his looks and what comes out of his mouth. He has a brain but he clearly does not use it for St. Lucia!

Economist across the world are being alerted to this issue about one of our own in the field of economics, and we are extremely disappointed at how one of our own is being treated by a country and government that desperately needs his field of expertise. Dr. Ubaldus Raymond please note that We (in the field of economics) honour your decision, and wish you the very best.

As an Economist, I truly feel sorry for the decision-makers in St. Lucia, who appear to prefer squandering great talent for lesser ones.

Why do we not face the fact that we voted for the SLP because the UWP of 2008-2011 was corrupt, incompetent and a bunch of 3rd world kleptocrats.

We do not like Kenny. We know Phillip is a small time hustler. We know that the SLP consists of hacks and opportunists who have nothing to offer St. Lucia.

Yet what could we do in 2011 when faced with a UWP consisting of King, Fredericks, Bousquet, Montoute (two faced and incompetent) and the rest?

We produce the worst knid og politicians that are the product of our society. Politicians are merely a reflection of our society.

Even if a good politician were on our doorstep we would reject him or her because we do not want honest people leading us.
