Obama in Ghana...

It will not take too long for the African and Caribbean American populations to come to the true understanding of who the snake oil salesman by the name of Barrack Hussain Obama really is.

The reason why our local politicians never get it right is that their liberal/socialist view of governance formed by the main stream media in the USA and the pandering by the liberal left combined with our slavery background has always led us to that which inhibits our development.

As we pander to this empty suit, trained by terrorists and formed while "community organizing" in Chigago the African Caribbean and American family gets destroyed and our communities go backward relative to all other groups.

As we lose jobs in the Caribbean and blacks in the USA lose jobs at a significantly faster rate than all other groups we can only marvel as we continue to pander to the false gods who maintain the mendicancy that George Odlum talked about.

Social programs = socialists, therefore democratic countries are a part of socialism. Can you imagine what would happen if there were no social programs and I don't mean welfare.

The writer of that first post must be either a bigot or a madman. The biggest snake oil salesman of them all is George W. Bush who sold America and the rest of the world on a war that was totally unnecessary and that designed for him by a cabal of neo-conservative hawks. Then he added insult to injury by sending American troops into harm's way without the necessary armour and equipment. When they returned injured they were sent to teh abominal facilities at Walter Reed hospital. It was Bush too who presided over the deregulation of Banks that ushered in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. And it was the Bush Administration which failed to act on intellignce regarding Al Qaeda that led to the 9/11 attacks. It was Bush GW who presided over the worst emergency response fiasco in America's history in New Orleans...need I say more? what did Bush do for the Caribbean?

What has Obama done in 6 months to merit that kind of crappish statement by the writer of the first post? America's economy was shedding jobs long before obama took the oath of office. Everybody knows that, except of course that idiot or bigot or both. And he may even be black too.

Do you know how many racist and envious people are still having nightmares since Obama won? Some may never be sane again.

The responce of the ranter is typical of the left wing liberals who demonized George Bush as all conservatives have been demonized by the liberal media of America for the past 50 years. These are the very people bringing America to it knees.
Good article below:

Obama's Immoral Authority
Obama's hypocrisy and brutal inhumanity in light of recent events shocks even the most jaded among us. Americans had to listen to his daily tongue lashing about our morals and values as he defended closing Gitmo (home to the worst war criminals), admonishing us for the benign use of waterboarding in order to save thousands of American lives, and in his latest attempt to create a "torture" prosecutor.

Yet what was done at Gitmo was all done in defense of America. It is a testament to our moral authority that Gitmo exists. Saner men would have lined up the enemy in front of a firing squad. It is a tribute to our moral superiority that Gitmo guards wear splash guards on their heads to protect against flying excrement and urine.

Nonetheless, Obama lectures us on morality, while now, just weeks later, we have watched him turn a blind eye to real torture: the unspeakable brutality, beatings and murders that the Islamic Republic of Iran is committing against people peacefully marching for liberty, for the principle of one man one vote. He has rewarded this regime with his recognition. Is this what Obama meant when he said we must respect Islam "even if we don't agree"?

Barack Obama warned that we cannot "keep this country safe unless we enlist the power of our most fundamental values" - which he was claiming had not been done. He said: "America must demonstrate that our values and institutions are more resilient than a hateful ideology."

He also declared: "We uphold our most cherished values not only because doing so is right, but because it strengthens our country and keeps us safe. Time and again, our values have been our best national security asset - in war and peace; in times of ease and in eras of upheaval. Fidelity to our values is the reason why the United States of America grew from a small string of colonies under the writ of an empire to the strongest nation in the world."

Is that from the President's statement on Iran? Did he say this in denouncing Ahmadinejad and the bloodthirsty mullahs? No. He was talking about Gitmo.

One has to ask: why did this man run for President? The knee jerk reaction to such a question is that a man (or woman) runs for President because he loves America. It is becoming increasingly clear that Obama ran for President because he hates America and wants very much to "change" it.

"There is also no question," Obama said, "that Guantanamo set back the moral authority that is America's strongest currency in the world."

No, Mr. President. Your position on Iran, Israel, Honduras, Chavez, Ukraine, Georgia, and the American taxpayer did that.

It is unconscionable that a President would invoke America's "moral authority" to pave the way for the advances of Islamic supremacism here and abroad. It is an abomination that he would sanction the actions of the Iranian mullahcracy while attempting to ethnically cleanse parts of Israel of the Jewish people. Denying the Jews' right to natural growth as a people is a crime against morality and humanity.

Read and learn. Unfortunately our blak communities in the USA and Caribbean only hear one point of view as we continue our decline.

Hearing Black?

A black guy in his mid-20's named Mike called into a radio show the other day, and he commented that "black people don't hear things the same way whites do." We blacks apparently "hear black."

So blacks don't hear the statement "Take me back to the good ol' days" the same way as whites. Blacks are not nostalgic at all about "the good ol' days", and believe this to be "code" for taking blacks back to the bondage of slavery.

To illustrate his point, Mike said that when he was in the second-grade, he and his classmates had listened to Reagan one evening, and Reagan commented that America should go back to its "glorious past." The next day at school all the black kids were crying, and asked their teacher, "Is Reagan was going to make black people slaves again?" Neither Mike nor his classmates had ever experienced slavery, so he seemed to go a long way back to consider the good ol' days. And why blame Reagan?

My upbringing was different. I never had learned to "hear black." So when I hear of going back to the good ol' days, I think of being a carefree kid and having the loving support of my family. I would get out of school, take the bus home (about 15 miles), where my grandfather was usually waiting to take me and my brother fishing.

We would return early evening to clean the fish, and then the handoff occurred to my grandmother who fried the fish in Crisco. Meal fully prepared, we ate together, saying Grace before the meal.

Afterwards, we would usually play dominoes, the TV on in the background for added distraction.

The next morning my cycle of carefree life began anew with the two mile drive to the gate, where the bus picked me up, and I was off to school.

Education was stressed, so you didn't skip out on school. Well I did once. I was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs, and I was eventually found out, as were my three co-conspirators. Even though all we did was go to the park to "hang out," I got in big trouble-grounded in fact. It seemed the whole town knew about our devious plan. Needless to say, it never happened again.

We took road trips as a family, usually going to visit relatives. Life wasn't much different for them. We always stopped to buy chicken and cokes before ascending on them. Our arrival almost always had the feel of a mini family reunion. Lots of big smiles, hugs, and eventually cards and/or dominoes. We caught up on happenings, and got up to date on the latest gossip, family or otherwise.

Day two of any visit was usually greeted with music and as with most black gatherings, we were there for fellowship "and a barbeque broke out."

Ribs, watermelon, corn-on-the-cob, potato salad, and BBQ beans were mainstays, and orange, red, and grape soda quenched our thirsts. At some point friends and acquaintances joined in, and a pickup football or basketball game would inevitably ensue.

The tape decks would appear, and music blasting. If the group was big enough, then somebody would "sport" their new car stereo, popping the trunk. The party was official-base-beats loud enough to pop welds. This scene would repeat itself many times during my childhood. All great memories of the good ol' days. But for many blacks the music stopped, as times changed. I remember it in my family like it was yesterday.

It happened when I was around sixteen. One of my inebriated cousins misheard a statement made by one of our uncles. In her mind-altered chemically dependent state she accused our uncle of trying to rip off her father. He hadn't.

Regardless, she threatened to get her pistol, and the hardware from other family members came out of the woodwork. Pistols were being brandished like afro picks. Family members took sides, without even knowing the reason for the conflict.

Amazingly, no shots were fired, but a lot of drunken truths were exposed. The family gatherings had ended. Just like that. In an instant, decades of tradition over. Perhaps this was when I should have begun "hearing black?"

Anonymous said...

I do still remember the good times, before the black community changed so dramatically. There were no Republican bogeymen around, speaking in unintelligible code language when part of the destruction of my family occurred. There were just a handful of chemically-inspired Democrat-worshipping black folks, "hearing things differently."

I thought to myself when thinking of that young black man's comment, that if you want to create a group of people who are victims, don't teach them about their "glorious past." Just teach them that they are victims, but not victims of themselves.

Black kids are not being educated about the glorious past of our families and our culture. We just believe that the destruction of the black family is what it is. We don't even think to equate it to Democrat policies that offered blacks the "easy" button.

Because of tepid responses to questions of racism, Republicans miss wonderful opportunities to educate misguided black youngsters to the racism of Democrats. We also miss opportunities to empower other conservatives-conservatives who are so thoroughly tired of being called racists-by explaining the facts of historically irrefutable Democrat racism against blacks.

Black people hear things differently, because Republicans allow them to hear and interpret differently, then essentially revise things as the black community sees fit-usually with the help of a complicit racist system run by the liberal media and Democrats.

Republicans should embrace discussions of slavery, because these discussions allow Republicans to set the record straight and take blacks back to the good ol' days...in proper context. More importantly these discussions allow parallels of Democrats racist tactics of the past to their tactics of today. This parallel showcases how blacks have replaced the old, very real plantation, and dependence on "Massa," with the metaphorical plantation of dependence on government.

Republicans should invite all blacks back to the good ol' days, so they can understand the Republicans' commitment to blacks. When that happens, I suggest to you that all of America will begin "hearing things the same way."

Man...what a load of hogwash in these last four posts seemingly written by a writer or writers who've drank from the same well of assininty. Black people will never again trust Republicans...why? Because Republicans have proven they cannot be trusted and that they are without conscience. Republicans are against all the values that are intrinsic almost ingerent in black culture...such as caring for those who are less fortunate; helping those who can't help themselves etc. See how Powell was and JC Watts were treated by this Party of the Cons. See how those hallowed heads that persecuted Clinton are falling on the same sword they set up for Clinton. Republicans are nasty minded people...pure and simple. And don't dare talk to me about keeping America safe but it was a Republican President who failed to keep America safe from Al Qaeda. If he had taken action when warned, then there would have been no need for Quantanamo and no debate on whether Obama should close it or not. DEAL WITH THAT!!!

Judging from the previous post we seem to have your usual vicious, vindictive liberal who cannot take any kind of pressure exposing their corrupt philosophy that is destroying the United States of America and our beloved Caribbean.

Well learn the truth. The election of the "empty suit" Obama has brought forth the silent majority who built the America that the Obamas, Ted Kennedy's, Al Sharptons, etc is destroying.
Watch Obama's poll numbers as his incompetence is exposed.

About Powell -read and weep.

Colin Powell Jumping Ship?

Add Colin Powell to the ranks of Americans waking up from the Obama induced stupor. The Washington Times reported that Mr. Powell has voiced serious reservations in a CNN interview about Obama’s big government agenda and its consequences for our nation and our children.

In the CNN interview on “State of the Union with John King” Powell cautioned Mr. Obama about "budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars" and "a huge, huge national debt that, if we don't pay for in our lifetime, our kids and grandkids and great-grandchildren will have to pay for it."

Haven’t conservatives been issuing these same warnings ever since Obama began his presidential campaign? It seems rather disingenuous for Mr. Powell, an early Obama supporter, to suddenly have this epiphany after a mountain of economic evidence has portended the frightening consequences of President Obama’s budget.

Maybe it’s Powell’s way of distancing himself from the Democrats after Obama’s truly outrageous handling of recent events in Honduras and in Iran.

Remember about a month ago when Newsweek’s Evan Thomas gushed:

"I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God."

I guess even Colin Powell assumes that God would be able to balance a budget.
Powell is as confused as Obama - neither stands for much that can't be shifted like sand.
Powell said that what the Republicans needed was a centrist like McCain –then he went on to vote for Obama. Powell is nothing more than a liberal in Republican clothing, happy to be thought of as important by the liberal media and bigwigs in the Beltway and taking potshots at conservatives from inside his Republican façade.
Exactly the type of Republicans the liberal media and Democrats love.

Powell all along was just another liberal Media-created messiah.
Since leaving the Bush Administration, Powell has had NADA to say about domestic and world issues and his critical assessment of them.
Powell has NOTHING to say about the successful surge in Iraq, but remains mute on issues of moral import, stays hidden in the confines of his security, and then endorses the Marxist socialist Obama - but, of course, NOT because of race - NO, NO, NO.
Powell supported and voted for Obama's wealth redistribution by robbing hard-working American citizens. He overlooked Obama's linkage to corrupt ACORN , the terrorist Ayers, the racist Wright, the Chicago thuggery political machine, Obama's socialist Alinsky doctrine, Obama's Cloward-Piven ideology, Obama's relentless dissembling and equivocation (ie lying), his megalomania, his lack of experience, his dismal grasp of foreign policy, his anti-capitalist TAX and Spend economic policy, his undercutting of the military and determination to cut military spending, his empty rhetoric. What a set of clowns.

Keep American politics in America...Choops

That is simple minded.

Our local politics has been about the liberal failed policies practiced by Democratic politicials and their responce to black communities.

Interestingly as the narcissist Obama goes about his business notice that his economic and foreign policy initiatives are following in the footsteps of any good Third World despot as he bankrupts the USA. We have seen it all in the Caribbean already.

What is your problem with President Obama? Get a life, will you? You people are sick, go find some help.

More propaganda BS from a confused Con. How much debt has Obama run up since he took office? How has Obama expanded the Government? How much money did we sink into a useless, ill-advised war that benefitted only the military industrial complex? Where is Osama bin Laden now?

The propaganda about Obama increasing the debt burden is just that...PROPAGANDA and it doesn't matter whether Powell is part of that propaganda. When he backed Obama the Cons were all ready to kill him; now he says what they wlike to hear they're eager to quote him. This is typical of the Conservative way of "use and abuse". George W rode into the Texas sunset leaving an economy in tatters and America up to the hilt in debt. All right thinking economists agreed that a stimulus package was necessary to pull the US out of the economic slump. Why is is that the Cons have no problem wasting money on senseless wars and see no debt therein; and can object to strenuously when money has to be spent on education, healthcare, infrastructure? why is it that Cons didn't object when the Department of Homeland Security was being created - the single biggest addition to the Government structure since the 1900s? Why is it that the Cons did not object to the manufacture of F-22 fighter planes that have never once fired a shot in anger anywhere?

It has been as clear as a bell to anyone who really wants information that Obama has been a chronic failure and as has been apparent to any sane person his policies are GUARANTEED to go downhill.
Listen to the truth below.

OBAMA IS DELAYING THE ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Unemployment continued to rise in June to 9.5%, with the loss of almost another half million jobs in the month (467,000). Stretches of the country can be considered in a depression, with the unemployment rate for Michigan at 15.2%, California 11.6%, Nevada 12.0%, Oregon 12.2%, Ohio 11.1%, North Carolina 11.0%, South Carolina 12.1%, Kentucky 10.9%, Tennessee 10.8%, and Indiana 10.7%. Over 100 urban areas now have unemployment rates over 10%.
Adult male unemployment nationwide is already in double digits at 10%.
BLACK UNEMPLOYMENT is 14.7%, with Hispanics at 12.2%. Teenage unemployment is 24%, with BLACK TEENAGE UNEMPLOYMENT close to 40%.
In a shocking article in the Wall Street Journal on July 14, Mortimer Zuckerman, chairman of U.S. News and World Report, explained why the economy is even worse than these numbers indicate. At least another 1.4 million people have already given up looking for work and so are not counted in the official unemployment rate. Another 9 million workers have taken part time unemployment because they cannot find full employment, yet they are not counted in the unemployment rate because they have some employment. Zuckerman reports:
The average work week for rank-and-file employees in the private sector, roughly 80% of the work force, slipped to 33 hours. That's 48 minutes a week less than before the recession began, the lowest level since the government began tracking such data 45 years ago.
Zuckerman suggests that adding those whose hours have been cut to those who cannot find a full time job would leave the real unemployment rate at 16.5%. He adds:
The average length of official unemployment increased to 24.5 weeks, the longest since government began tracking this data in 1948. The number of long-term unemployed (i.e., for 27 weeks or more) has now jumped to 4.4 million, an all-time high.
Because of all this burgeoning unemployment and underemployment, incomes across the board are now declining.

Why Obama Failed
Don't believe the Obama Administration rhetoric about how this economy has just turned out to be so difficult and they are doing the best they can. While the economy is still getting worse, the truth is the recovery is long overdue. The National Bureau of Economic Research dates this recession as starting some time during December, 2007. The longest recession since World War II was 16 months, with the average being 10 months. The current recession has now lasted 19 months. By this reckoning, we should have had a normal cyclical recovery at least 3 months ago.
When President Obama was hawking his stimulus package costing the American people close to $1 trillion with interest, he told us that it would prevent the unemployment rate from rising above 8%. If we didn't pass it, he said, unemployment would go to 9%. He and his Administration savants also promised that the stimulus package would go to work reviving the economy immediately. As Fred Barnes wrote in the Wall Street Journal on Monday,
Once the stimulus passed, Democrats said the impact would be PRACTICALLY INSTANT.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) predicted "AN IMMEDIATE JOLT."
Economic adviser Larry Summers said, "YOU’LL SEE THE EFFECTS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY."
White House Budget Director Peter Orszag said it would "TAKE ONLY WEEKS OR MONTHS" to be felt.
Obviously, President Obama and his incompetent economic gurus didn't know what they were talking about. Not only is unemployment today at 9.5%, but even the Obama Administration is now saying it will go over 10%. President Obama is now changing his story, saying the stimulus was never supposed to work this fast, and it is really a two-year program. But if the economic was in such tragic shape when he came into office, why didn't he develop an economic program that would work faster?
President Obama also told us when seeking approval for his stimulus that it would create or save 3 to 4 million jobs. But America has already lost 7.2 million jobs from this recession, so President Obama spent close to a trillion taxpayer dollars on his stimulus to do half the job, even if it worked as planned. Since January when President Obama entered office, America has lost over 2.6 million jobs. So the stimulus as yet is not working as planned.
Indeed, it was obvious from the beginning that the stimulus as designed was going to create or save exactly zero jobs, because it was based entirely on old-fashioned, throwback, Keynesian economics, proven not to work over and over. The stimulus package involves just borrowing a trillion dollars from the private economy to increase government spending in the economy by a trillion dollars. That involves no net increase for the economy in any event. In fact, it involves a net loss at best, because the private sector spends the money more productively and efficiently than the government.
Moreover, this Keynesian borrowing and spending does nothing to change the basic incentives that govern the economy. Indeed, nothing anywhere in Obama's entire economic package increases incentives for economic growth, or for investment in particular.

YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET

But the disastrous policy failures of Obamanomics are just beginning. President Obama is now campaigning daily for a government takeover of health care involving comprehensive government health care rationing, where the government will tell Americans what health care they can have and when, and ultimately deny them health care to reduce costs. This is all fully explained in a recent report from President Obama's own Council of Economic Advisors, which Obama has touted as showing how he would reduce health costs.
But because government spending overall under that health takeover will go up, not down as President Obama is promising, the health care takeover bill in the House, fully endorsed by Obama, now specifies exactly what tax increases will be necessary to finance this increased spending. These include:
• An income tax increase on workers who do not purchase the government required health insurance equal to 2.5% of adjusted gross income or the average individual premium amount for such insurance for the year, whichever is less.
• A new payroll tax on employers who do not provide health insurance equal to 8% of payroll.
• A new excise tax on private health insurance plans.
• A new income tax surcharge on small business and others that would raise total income taxes paid to start by 1% in 2011, rising to 2% in 2013, on families earning from $350,000 to $500,000, 1.5% in 2011, rising to 3% in 2013, on families earning from $500,000 to $1,000,000, and 5.4% in 2011 on families earning over $1,000,000. These income tax surcharges would start for singles earning $280,000.
These tax increases are all on top of the tax increases in the Obama budget that will go into effect in 2011. All of these Obama income tax increase proposals together would raise the top marginal federal tax rate to almost 48% from 35% today. Counting state income taxes, the average top income tax rate in America would climb to about 52%.
Such tax rates would be almost the highest in the world, higher than in socialist Europe, formerly socialist India, and Communist China. Only three countries, Denmark, Sweden, and Belgium, out of the 30 Western countries measured by the OECD, would suffer under higher top marginal tax rates. If you are a blue-collar worker with a job in manufacturing, say goodbye to it as it moves to South Korea, where the total top marginal tax rate is 38.5%. The U.S. rate would be over 35% higher, completely uncompetitive. The U.S. rate would also be higher than France, Germany, Canada, and Poland, among 23 others in the OECD.
Indeed, in five states politically dominated by liberal Democrats -- California, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Oregon -- the total top tax rate would be higher than in socialist Sweden. The nonpartisan Tax Foundation reports that 10 states would suffer total top tax rates above 54%, which is higher than in socialist Belgium at 53.7%. The Tax Foundation reports 39 states would suffer total top income tax rates over 50%.
Moreover, the economically sensitive federal capital gains tax rate would be almost doubled from 15% today to 26.5%. The tax on corporate dividends would be more than tripled from 15% today to 46%.
When these tax rate increases become effective in 2011, America will be left completely uncompetitive in the world economy. These tax increases will translate into still higher unemployment, fewer jobs, lower wages, and still slower economic growth. The new employer mandate payroll tax is a heavy new burden sharply raising employment costs for small business, which will result in still higher unemployment.

The top 1% of income earners already pay 39% of all federal income taxes. The top 5% pay 61% and the top 10% pay 73%. President Obama's tax piracy policies on top of this will cause capital flight from the U.S., as both domestic and foreign capital seeks more friendly tax jurisdictions in emerging markets in India, Brazil, China, South Korea, and even in Eastern Europe where favorable flat tax policies now proliferate. Yes, even the Communist Chinese feature more pro-growth economic policies than Barack Obama. As discussed above, even most of Western Europe will have more competitive tax policies. There is no rule of reality that says America has to have the highest standard of living in the world. Under this tax piracy, it soon will not.
But even this is not the whole disastrous economic policy picture. President Obama is also campaigning for the new cap and trade tax that has already passed the House, designed to increase the cost of energy so much that the use of fossil fuels will eventually decline by 83%. The resulting unreliable supply of high cost energy will be another enormous competitive disadvantage for America that will only further sink the economy.

A Cyclical Recovery

In the shorter term, over the next year, the American economy will start growing again. Indeed, the index of leading economic indicators is already flashing restored growth. But this will only be the result of the normal cycles of the American economy, as that recovery is already long overdue, and Obama's economic policies do nothing to restore growth, as explained above. The steepness of the declines we have suffered will naturally promote faster growth, as will the future mega tax increases promised by Obamanomics, as everyone scrambles to earn today what will be taxed into oblivion tomorrow.
But that growth will not be nearly strong enough to bring down unemployment rapidly, which will persist well into next year at over 10%. Instead, as that growth collides with Obama's trillion dollar deficits, interest rates will rise sharply. The Fed is now promising that it will reverse its very loose monetary policy in time to short circuit inflation. But doing so would further contribute to sharply rising interest rates, and threaten to abort the recovery, and the Fed will blink at doing that.
By 2012, Obamanomics will have re-created the 1980 misery index, with high unemployment, high inflation, and high interest rates. Let me be the first to predict that President Obama will not even be running for re-election then.
Vice President Joe Biden recently said the Obama Administration might consider a second stimulus package. But what we need instead is a fundamental change in economic policy, especially since we have already passed a second stimulus package. In early 2008, then President Bush caved in to the Democrat Congressional majorities to pass the first Keynesian stimulus package. This stimulus, fully supported by then Sen. Obama, was so ineffective, just as Obama's stimulus this year has been, that it has been totally forgotten. But it is important to remember that this longest recession since World War II has been countered from the beginning with throwback, brain dead, Keynesian policies, rather than supply-side economics.

You have studiuosly not responded to my several questions. But allow me one final resposte to your diatribe...because in truth I tire of it and it doth disturb my spirit. Capital flight and the loss of American businesses to Asia is a Republican-inspired phenomenon driven by an ill-advised globalization mantra. The economic slump that occured last year was definitely not cyclical and the growth that is being witnessed now is jobless growth. It's on Wall-street and defintely not on Main street. The Obama stimulus is yet to hit Main street and this is where the jobs will come in the short to medium term.

President Obama's tax policies were thoroughly debated during the election campaign and his thumping win puts that argument to rest, as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps you can tell readers how much tax Madoff and Ken Lay and Stanford paind into the Treasury?

Anonymous said...

Perhaps you could inform readers that Madoff made significant contributions to politicians - all liberal Democrats and the SEC turned a blind eye to certain irregularities because of Madoff's Democratic connections. THe same liberal crooks living off of the fat of the land.

Pity you did not read all the post but here is a reminder about the so called stimulus which has been a massive fraud and failure.

"When President Obama was hawking his stimulus package costing the American people close to $1 trillion with interest, he told us that it would prevent the unemployment rate from rising above 8%. If we didn't pass it, he said, unemployment would go to 9%. He and his Administration savants also promised that the stimulus package would go to work reviving the economy immediately. Please go and learn the facts before writing on blogs with your excuses for incompetence of others.

With regard to your comment on the non cyclical nature of the downturn. Given the relative size of the US economy it was events in the US market that caused the problems. One of the biggest was caused by the gay liberal Democrat walking sin by the name of Barney Frank who was in charge of the banking committee that oversaw the loosening of all the rules on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This is one of Obama's greatest supporters.

Read and learn about Mr. Frank whose gay relationships linked to the collapse of Fannie and Freddie.

Barnett "Barney" Frank was first elected to Congress in 1981 at the age of forty-one from Massachusetts' 4th district. Six years later he made national news when he publicly declared his homosexuality.
In 1991, Barney Frank received an official reprimand for reflecting "discredit upon the House." The reprimand came as a result of his relationship with a man named Steve Gobi, a male prostitute whom Frank initially paid $80 for sex. Frank later took Gobi to live with him in his home, making him a personal aide. He paid him $20,000 in compensation (unreported to the IRS) and let him use his car. Subsequent investigation revealed that in the course of their relationship, Frank used his congressional office and stationary to fix Gobi's 33 parking fines. Frank also used his congressional letterhead to write a reference letter to Gobi's probation officer -- Gobi was under court supervision as a convicted felon with a prison record -- in which he gave false information. Most damningly, the investigation found that Gobi ran a prostitution ring from Frank's home. In his defense, Frank asserted he knew nothing of Gobi's illicit enterprise.

The Democrat -controlled House voted 408-18 to reprimand Frank after a heated debate during which some Republicans demanded expulsion. They pointed out that the claim that Frank did not know of Gobi's criminal activities was incredible to say the least.

Jeff Jacoby of The Boston Globe summed up their sentiments when he wrote: "Most pathetic of all was Frank's claim that he'd been 'victimized' -- that he was a just a 'good liberal' who was 'trying to help' Gobie, but got 'suckered.'"

A former Harvard instructor, Barney Frank twice won the title "brainiest", "funniest," and "most eloquent" member of the House in a survey of Capitol Hill staffers. It truly strains the bounds of credulity that Frank, an accomplished congressman and a former Ivy League lecturer, could be deceived under his own roof by a street hustler.

After Gobi, Barney Frank become involved in another questionable -- and possibly criminally tainted -- relationship with a man called Herb Moses. Moses, whom Frank called his "spouse," was a high-level executive at Fannie Mae from 1991 until 1998. Dubbed a "mortgage guru" by the National Mortgage News, Moses boasted that he helped develop "many of Fannie Mae's affordable housing and home improvement lending programs." It was, of course, these kinds of programs that ultimately led to the collapse of the subprime mortgage market that wiped out trillions dollars from the economy and produced the economic turmoil that we now face. Even though there were those warning against the precarious nature of the enterprise, Barney Frank -- whose committee oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- kept resisting reforms and besmirching those voicing concerns.

When the Bush administration proposed that oversight of Fannie and Freddie be transferred to the Treasury Department, Frank strongly opposed the plan, claiming:

"These two entities... are not facing any kind of financial crisis... The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."

Further and continuing on the subprime crisis caused by Democrats and not Republicans as the liberal main stream media like to say:

Barney Frank continued to claim almost until the day of the collapse that the two mortgage giants were financially sound. If we lived in a sane world, Barney Frank would be compelled to testify about his culpability in the current crisis and what role his romantic involvement with Herb Moses -- as well as the campaign contributions he received from Fannie and Freddie -- played in his shilling for these two moribund institutions.

Commenting on his shenanigans, Jeff Jacoby observed that under normal circumstances Frank's questionable relationships could have well landed him in prison. Voters in his very liberal congressional district, however, have awarded him with a string of easy re-elections.

So there is a lot that we in St. Lucia simply do not know because we are caught up in the liberal spin we receive on everything in our lives and to our detriment.

The reason while all the above is relevant is that in St. Lucian politics we have refused to examine logically the role of our politicians and we have failed to understand the motivations behind political statements or even moves in the House. We are no different that the Americans in being unable to sort out the wheat conservatives) from the chaff(liberals).

For example: Kenny Anthony lost $110,000,000 of the peoples money in Rochamel. 10 years after the event we still do not know where the money went. Even if the Commission of Enquiry finds that he did not do anything criminal it will still not account for the fact that because of his INEPTITUDE and incompetence that $110, 000, 000 of the peoples taxes was lost due to his and Phillip Pierre's incompetence.

Do the people of St. Lucia know that for at least five(5) years that Dr. Anthony paid NONE OF THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT on the Rochamel funds loaned by the Trinidad bank, so that St. Lucia paid over $8,500,000 annually as interest on that loan ?
That is over $40,000,000 up to 2006.
In other words Rochamel has cost us at least $150,000,000 and yet we want to castigate Allen Chastanet when he spends $1 million on Carnival. In no way do I want to defend Chastanet as he has made horrendeous mistakes in his role as Minister of Tourism but all of his mistakes do not compare to $150,000,000 from Kenny and Phillip even though there are many stories of Mr. Chastanet that have never even been exposed.

Has Dr. Anthony the former Prime Minister and Minister of Finance ever paid a price for this massive hemmoraging of funds from the public purse ? Not only has he not paid but some are clamoring for him to return as Prime Minister !!!

Did the Public Accounts Committee ever account for the expenditures of the Ministers of Agricuture in successive Governments including from Peter Josie -who wrote this article? Peter Josie has appeared to be so much like Jesse Jackson whose only claim to fame has been his association with George Odlum as Jackson's has been with Martin Luther King. In the end both Josie and Jackson have been shown to be lost without the linkage with the Odlums and Kings of the world. Jesse Jackson is no more than a "race baiter" while Josie is lost as to his role in St. Lucian politics.

What about Rufus Bousquet ? What a story that no one wants to report. There is enough information there to sink any Government but there is talk about him being Prime Minister !!

The point here is that as a citizenry we wallow in our lack of decency, refuse to call a spade a spade and continue unperturbed on our way as politician after politician rapes our treasury and leads us down the garden path.

Will we ever learn ?

We keep bringing back that rochamel thing again again about Kenny. He had paid the price, he lost the election. They had an enquiry nothing was found wrong about that. I want to know, which government on earth that does not make mistakes? Obama has done things which is considered, waste of money. The same Compton who we all praise so much, made many many mistakes, which we are still paying today, eg. the UN funds scandal, The SLBGA had a debt of 45 million dollars which the slp had to clear, there was cost over ran on the millieun highway etc, cte, and Compton was re elected. Leading a country is not an easy affair, it does not matter who, they will make mistakes.
So who is Kenny that he is not expected to make mistakes. Some people never want to highlight people success only their failures.
