I remember when this change was being discussed at the time, the only major objection came from the roman Catholic Church and I specifically recall their reason being related to the season of Lent. Their view however, were completely ignored by our decision makers. So, I beg to differ with Mr. Compton. But I do agree with him on the fact that our Carnival has suffered greatly since the change.
