I agree. The biggest mistake the King administration ever did was to let those British police officers go back to the UK. We were starting to develop some hope.

The King should bring back the Brits.

It is interesting to note that Minister Keith Mondesir when he was the Minister in charge of Law and Order had the lowest murder rate is St. Lucia for over 10 years.

He was replaced because of a concerted effort to get rid of him by St. Lucia Labour Party operatives for their own personal reasons.

Minister Mondesir if you looked at his record was an individual who "got things done!" and it was clear that he had begun the process as Minister of Home Affairs.
Under his watch the murder rate had dropped by as much as 35% or more. His problem was that he tended to put " his foot in his mouth" therefore was an easy target for our Lucians who love a roro.
When I say that he got things done I do not say this without evidence. He was successful in his business practices even to the extent that he had a successful cattle farm in Canada! You can make fun of this but the reality is that when faced with a problem he looked for a solution and did not stop till he reached it. That was and is the character of the successful Mondesir family. The point that I am making is that we as Lucians tend to "cut off our noses to spite our faces". We are willing to destroy individuals so as to forward our personal agendas without any regard for our country and we only see things within a very short time span.

We did it with Sir John George Melvin Compton and were only willing to recognize his good points, his amazing graciousness as an individual after he was dead and gone. Mondaisair in his own way was dealing successfully with Law and Order as the Minister with that responsibility but we destroyed him because of our personal agendas and because of politics.

One of the greatest commendations I logically give to Dr. Kenny Anthony (who I think was a failure as a Prime Minister) is that he brought down the British policemen to head the St. Lucia Police Force.
The reason that this was so important is that the leadership of the SLPF was either CORRUPT or as in most cases it TURNED A BLIND EYE TO CORRUPTION. i.e. we had fundamentally good St. Lucian cops but they had learnt over the years to just accept the corruption of others.

The brillance of Dr. Anthony at this point was replacing the whole echelon of the RSLPF because if you had only brought down one or two persons they would have been overwhelmed by the local officers.
Unfortunately Dr. Anthony only went half way and he brought the British policemen in as support staff to the local officers.

But I will say without reservation that the closest that we have come to solving the crime situation in St. Lucia was Dr. Anthony's decision to bring in a TEAM of foreigners to take over our police force.

There is more to this than Dr. Kenny Anthony is capable of understanding because of his failed philosophical approach to Governance but if Mondasir had been the Minister of Home Affairs under Dr. Anthony AND the British cops had been brough in then St. Lucia woud have been much further along the path to redenption.

The Government of Alberta, Canada just hired 62 new cops most of them if not all are Brits because they have a serious gang/drug problem there.

You told us how good Dr Mondersir was as minister of home affairs, but you fell short in telling us what he did that deserved all these commendations. I am waiting to hear from you, what did Mondersir do to create a drop in crime? I think we should just thank God, for not having much crime at that time. We in St Lucia always looking for someone to blame, it was Kenny causing crime , now you still blaming "labour party operatives", whatever that may mean, i do not know, for the removal of Mondresir. If a government is in power and can allow the opposition to call the shorts, then that government do not deserve to be in office.
Tell us why and how Dr Anthony was a failure as a PM?
Dr Mondersir is so brilliant, tell us what are the good things he is doing in our health service today. How is our health better now because of him.
