can someone please tell sammy the only reason why he was selected to be vice captain is because of the strike by the WIPA represented cricketers. after all, he could not even make the team to play on his own home ground. It would be interesting to see what the selectors would do if the strike was to be resolved for the next series... would sammy be part of the team. the state of west indies cricket is a reflection of poor management over the years. its no wonder we are ranked at the bottom half of the table in both forms of the game. In 2009 we have players competing without contracts; players are owed huge sums of money. this is pathetic, and a shame and this is one of the reasons why i dont support W.I. cricket. If sammy was from trinidad, jamaica, barbados or guyana and the president was from the same country he would have been a permanent figure on the W.I. team. Isnt that sad!!! By the way isnt julian hunte a st.lucian, isnt sammy a st. lucian!!!

I do not believe being V captain is a surprise to Sammy. I believe he though he should have been Captain, which i also believe he deserves, because he had captained the A team and also the senior team in the absence of Gail. Being V captain is not to bad because that will allow him to concentrate on his game instead of all the responsibility of the captaincy.
