The two-party System of Government was spawned in Mother-England and exported to the rest of her colonies. The recent elections in England/Britain points to the recognition that this mess, has way outdone its usefulness, if it ever had it.Australians are reacting in much the same way as the British did. At the heart of this scenario, is that people are just plain fed-up with the same old political crap, that passes for Government/Governance in their countries. This is the real age of enlightenment where everyone can obtain information on anything thing possible at a click, in a second. People are just now more informed about everything. And they know that they can do better than accept the same all trash. I am convinced that the guys in opposition who are trying to get back in Government have not convinced themselves of this as yet. Hence the reason they are prepared with their eyes wide open, to force Kenny Anthony back on the electorate (majority) who it is clear are not comfortable with that. Instead of going if necessary outside the box, choose a credible leader, and with their various strengths, rally around that leader, as they did when Kenny came in. St. Lucians will I strongly believe give both major political parties a great shock. Based on what I am sensing. The large independent group of voters, are inclined to vote for candidates, not party. We need in St. Lucia to renew St. Lucia, by spreading the power as we see done in England and Australia, and trinidad & Tobago. We the people will fare better. Many more persons need now to get into the fray, and split the traditional Party's votes. St. Lucians will be better off with that. And politicians will respect us now.
Have you seen the state of the SLP in opposition? They have turned into a reactionary politiical opposition. When they are not fighting Tom Chou, they are busy talking about crap that hold no relevance to St Lucians. This is why I agree that change must come but not with Kenny and the SLP in charge.
Why don't you plain say not with those in either party and that includes the LPM if they strike us as the jokers, in their respective deck of cards. Face our problem, say it as it is. That's the only way we can begin to move forward. Thank you, please. There might well be worthwhile individuals from all three. We will sift the chaff from the wheat,so to speak, come election time, we will be next after Trinidad & Tobago.
The three official parties need to be reviewed clinically, particularly with respect to their candidates. For example, in the Labour Party I can identify at few: Mario Michel [I may not necessarily be in love with him] but I respect him as a good worker, although as I write this, the Helenair Affair comes to mind, nonetheless, it did not go through. He tried a thing but it did not work, or was it Kenny behind that whole thing? Then a great guy is Ignatius Jean, yhen the gentleman for Vieux-Fort North, Musa J. Baptiste, he's another good guy.I am still a bit doubtful of Phillip Pierre, he has a serious self-esteem problem, that makes him a put-off.
On the UWP side, I really can't see anyone really, Jeannine Compton, is bad memories of her -----father.The others are a complete waste of time. The LPM folks, I have not gotten to view/scrutinize as I would like to yet.
So you see the political architecture/landscape we are faced with? That is why I sizeable number of us are voting this time for "GOOD CANDIDATES". "Coo sar lar, nous par car prends sar key jaune pour beurre", meaning "this time around, we are not taking anything that is yellow for butter"." BWENNE COUR OU". BRACE yOURSELF.

On point. St Lucia will be better served with the Trinidad example. Giving power to one party is dangerous at best.
