I think much more investigation should be conducted as the reasons for this tragic accident. Some questions need to be asked. Was the driver under the influence of alcohol? Was there a mechanical issue with the vehicle? Was the vehicle insurance and license up to date? was this an act of sabotage?

This may be controversial, but the accident was a man made disaster which has taken so many lives in one instance. Can the victims fate be place on the shoulders of the driver or not. That needs to be establish so that someone to takes responsibility for the crash as this was not a natural disaster.

What about the third party liability the insurance company would have to meet? Is that being processed?
Just simply meeting the funeral expenses and support for the families is not enough.

The country has been very emotional about this accident(and quite rightly so)but we must also be sober and search for answers.

The emotions has cause the government to take tax payers money to pay for the funeral expenses. I do not think this would have happened outside a period close to election.

I don't remember the state taking the responsibilities for funeral expenses of all the dead in the wake of Hurricane Tomas. And Tomas we had control over.

If you ask me if the opposition was in government would they have done the same? My answer would be yes.

I think the parties have seen this as a political sin if they don't help bearing in mind current election environment. In other words, the the idea to pay for the funeral bills was politically motivated - pure and simple.

Let us see how that will play out Nov. 28, especially in the Micoud belt.

I am not too sure who penned these words, but it is, I feel a fitting quote in light of such a tragedy. For what happened on that fateful day ought to remind us all of how fragile life is.

"Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate you friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is."

May the bereaved find solace and regardless to how hard it is, come to the realization that death is but a continuation of life. The departed watch while we weep but weep not, let them be on their journey as they find their final place of rest.

To the blogger at 9:18 pm
We need to learn to disagree with someone without resorting to name calling and personal attacks. This is the main problem with ignorance in our society and politics today. We need to rise above these low down gutter reactions.

I agree with OXO...a full investigation needs to be carried out to determine the cause of the incident

How do you investigate with all eye witnessed dead? We have crappy roads with no signs and speed limits posted. That's the main cause!
