Taiwan is a key US ally; Kenny is powerless to throw them out without incurring the wrath of the United States.
Talk is cheap, but here comes the reality.
Taiwan ain't going nowhere.
The US is a key ally of China as well; infact, China owned them now...so what's your point?
I think Kenny should keep Chou here and make him give a report of all the monies that were handed down to the UWP ministers. Then Kenny should make them account for every cent if not charge them CRIMINALLY for abuse of State funds. Please Kenny no Commission of Inquiry-waste of money!
Some of us are not aware of the geo-politics. George Odlum was right to encourage ties with China when he was alive. My main concern is with what is best for St Lucia. If Taiwan's ambassadors feel free to disrespect our constitution then I say, 'They can keep their money, we will keep our honey and go to China in a hurry.'
its all rambow diplomacy .. politrics time again.. but dr K is playing the card games perhaps trying to get the best out of the 2 countries.. rememb china only remains to accomplish the theatre of performing arts perhaps in the range of $50 million or a little more or less than that .. apart from that i dont know of any other commitments china will have .. perhaps they will assist in smaller monetary areas that taiwan is accustom to doing with us .. with their 20 cents projects all over the place .. i want to know how much has taiwan pumped into st lucia by way of grants etc does anyone know pls ? CHINA IS A SAFER BET REMB CHINA IS A MAJOR PLAYER AT THE CDB OR ECCB.. one of them plus they now have a loan disburstment of a $1 billion for islands who have diplomatic relations with them .. so if we do get the theatre and perhaps some road developments also we can get access to these loans even during these recession times .. china all the way trust me.. DO U KNOW TAIWAN ALLEDGEDLY HAS A HUGE BULK OF CHINA S GOLD BULLION WHEN THEY SEPARATED DECADES AGO CHINA WANTS THAT BACK .. THINK OF THE FUTURE..ppl who has staying power between china and taiwan ..this time goliah is the victor trust me..

It's obvious you don't know the difference between alliance and rivalry.
Once Tom Chou conducts his affairs properly there is no reason to send him packing. This is diplomacy.
If Tom Chou were allowed to participate in the political process, he would win easily.
For the most part, St.Lucians love this guy especially when he is backing their party.
There are no values in this here politics.
Why Micah did you not ask Dr. Anthony how come the Taiwanese have already said they met with Dr. Anthony and he confirmed that the Taiwanese are staying ?
the Taiwansese within days of the elections said that they met with and Dr anthony said they were all good. Did taiwan give money to the slp as to the uwp ? I bet !!
Up to now dr anthony is saying he is going to "negotiate" with the taiwanese and chinese.
Isn't this still kenny and tony.
the local press if they were doing their job should have questioned dr anthony about the hypocricy between his previous statements on chou and his relationship now.
for 3 years (not 3 days or weeks or months )but for 3 years he castigated the taiwanese (and not just chou) and now without probable even confering with his colleagues decides to go with the taiwanes.
A good move ? Absolutely but what duplicity. It also shows our own character as a people if NOBODY questions dr anthony on his behaviour.
That was why you also had the rochamel nd grynsberg problems.
If Micha and the other so called journalists were good at their jobs they should go back get the tapes and statements from Kenny on Chou and Taiwan and compare that to what he is saying now.
