About a year ago, I read one of the many reviews about Rodney Bay on the TripAdvisor. The tourist went on to say that the place was dirty and rat infested. At first I thought he was lying; I thought he was jealous of our beautiful Rodney Bay, but now I know that he was telling the truth.

Where is Emma? Isn't Rodney Bay part of the area she represents?

Where is Emma? Where are the people who live there? Isn't Rodney Bay the place they live?

You mean the people who live there and voted for her should pick up the gabbage themselves? LOL

I like that. Why don't they take care of their own gabbage!

St. Lucians don't mind living pig lifestyles, and they are not afraid to show it.

show some class pigs!!!

a canadian that's happily leaving this cesspool island.

Blogger above...some places in Canada does not fare any better; Scarborough and Edmonton comes to mind - those two communites, besides others, are on a larger, much larger scale of a cesspool than St Lucia could ever be.

Living like pigs! I have seen Canadians lives in such abject nastiness that would turn any stomach - vomit your entire intestines out; even, so go back with your crap. I surely, and most of St Lucians by extension, won't miss you. Go live as a white pig/trailer trash as you are used to.

to the 1st blogger i too saw a couple trip advisor comments it was a young white lady i believe who said about the rats. STLUCIANS HAVE NO PRIDE dont mine them.. and it goes all the way to the top .. last yr i phoned the ministry of tourism spoke to the then minister's secretary with her english black accent

told her i have passed by daily near the pool of gutter stagnant water just after the lime restaurant or upper level nite club .i mentioned to her it gives off a bad stench and many tourist who passes by cannot ignore it .. i then asked her to bring it the relevant ministry to act upon it..SHe did say perhaps the min..of commun and works might be responsible she dare ask me my name perhaps she was prompted to do so cause i brought a possible scenario that despite the bad odoor there isnt proper lighting and that could arouse any wood be thief or criminal to use that area to his/her advantage

oh the point is she took it under advice it seems ... so when u have ministries such as tourism with a lias a faire approach and ministry of sustainable development who allows stores to continue to leave their huge boxes and nylsons filled with gabbage outside their store when they bring in monthly stock and they turn their eyes to it cause its mr. so and so or this is so and so friend.. what u expect when it comes to gabbage disposal... we lacked 2 things in stlucia BIG TIME.. STANDARDS is one of them.. we dont have NO-STANDARDS, so gabbage left in the heart of rodney bay doesnt surprise me whatsoever..i am happy ppl see things more clearly now

Hotels in St.Lucia are some of the most expensive in the Caribbean. For years during my many visits I've noticed a decline in cleanliness in the Rodney Bay area, and as one blogger said, the area just north of the LIME have always been a filthy stinking cesspool, because garbage from you know where drifts and accumulate in that nook, with no where to go. It is really a shame and no one seem to give a damn. The tourists don't vote but they will get fed up and don't return.
"BETTER DAYS AHEAD"??????? Chooops.

There are many many many more hotels in Canada than in St.Lucia.
What are they doing there if you didn't, to a certain degree, depend on tourism?

And by the way, the Niagara Falls section of Canada depends on tourism 100%. I have stayed there, so I know.

Businesses have a role to play also. They should keep their garbage in their backyards until the day of, or the day before, the garbage pick-up.

If they fail to comply, they should be fined.

The point is, tourism isn't as important to Canada as it is to St Lucia. Name me one other industry St Lucia can fully depend on? I can name countless in Canada. My point isn't that Canada is much better. My point is Canada unlike St Lucia can still exist without tourism.

"As a St Lucian Myself,I To Was Quite Ashamed To See The Gigantic Rats Patrolling Castries Without Fear And Lucians Gobbling Chinese Food Eating Those Same Rats With All The Germs,Not To Mention The Unbearable Stench By The Gardens And The Bridge By Hospital Rd,Just To Name A Few,Castries Use To Be The Cleanest City In The Entire Caribbean Let Us Do It Again."

You are right! You have perfected the craft of stealing raw materials from poor third-world nations, fabricating them into finished products, and then selling them back to these same third-world nations at sky high prices.
St.Lucia hasn't reached that level of deception.

One more thing; no real Canadian would waste his or her time criticizing a small Caribbean natiion; so you must be a fake.

A fake? Name one raw material produced in St Lucia that ends up in Canada? zelt. How about manufacturing something the world needs?

The people who are talking about Canada or any other country is being kept clean. I will tell them that did not happen by chance, nor it is because the people living in the countries are any better than the people of St Lucia. SOME places in these countries are kept clean because the authorities administer big fines on the people if the do not adhere to proper disposal of garbage, and they use these moneys to collect the garbage. So it is not something that happen by accident or chance, the people PAY big money for the timely collection of garbage, either by fines or taxes.

This pile started because the private building owner cut the weeds on his own property and then dumped them on the public pavement in front of his building. Other people then contributed to the growing mess. The main occupants of this building, the Foster Law Offices daily drive their fancy cars past the pile - they don't care, why should anyone else? Unfortunately this is the case with most Lucians - no respect for their environment. The Triangle Pub/Lime cesspool - twenty years and counting - getting worse each day.

How is Debbie Tobierre a senator???where are her qualifications? this girl is as dumb as dumb can be...I went to school with her - she is not fit to be a senator.

Anonymous said...

What does being a senator have to do with the garbage in front of this business? You are showing hatred and jealousy.

Anonymous said...

AA Debbie Tobierre's success burning you baddd man! You really think a dumb person could run a business the scale of which Debbie runs hers? Lol if only Lucians would stop being jealous of others and instead use it to inspire them to be prosperous and innovative, maybe we could rival countries like Barbados. Stop hiding behind your anonymous and go say it to her face nuh. You can do better?! Ha ha people here are so funny.
