As a sustainability consultant from St Lucia. I am happy to see that sustainable development is slowly starting to buid momentum with articles such as this and a designated government department. It gives me hope for our fair helen.

But we still have a long way to go. I recently witnessed the destruction of an egret nest on the entrance to pigeon island. And I was so distraught by the unnecessary distress being caused by tge birds and lack of attempt to preserve the local biodiversity I notified the conservation officer in pigeon point. I was told its not her remit and that was it. This is ur job and on the boundary of the islands maim are of protected biodiversity. For God sake do something move the nest to the island something.

St lucians laissez faire approach to their island will be their biggest downfall. Climate change is second.
