This is a good Board. Petrus Compton is fairly knowledgeable on cultural issues having been associated with the Folk Research Centre for many decades. Good to see the likes of Lord Help Me on this Board.

The Ministry of Creative Industries is better tied to the Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs ... NOT Tourism.

Some may think it foolish, stupid even, of my opinion; but when it comes to trade/commerce. business affairs- the creative industries stand a better chance for export/import and development of their trade (hard or soft produce, and I mean the ENTIRE creative processes).

Those who are IN it - KNOW it!

But - we shall see how this new ministry pans out. Anyway, congratulations to a new CDF Board. Now for a new Executive Director!!

Lets hope the Minister takes regard of all the talent on the island, e.g. Comedians, poets, muscians etc. Too many times people give up here because of the ignorance and jealousy of people whose only claim to fame is sex, and I even wonder if they talk about it so much whether they are any good at it, whereas artists are happy to be judged for their talent. Remember 'winding' is not a skill its an extension of sex. Lets give the people with real talent more opportunities most of them care for their island and cultural heritage.
