These dates makes the poor girl 14 years old, or maybe just 15, when she was made pregnant. Where were her parents?

Above that's right. Where were her parents, the boyfriend's parents, her teachers, her classmates, the neighbours, the nurses and doctors (when this poor child went to deliver at the hospital), the churches, the civil societies, her friends? Where were you and I. ALL of us has to be blamed for allowing the death of this child and her two children.

May they rest in peace.

We, the Community need to be implicated in such atrocious acts. For too long we have relegated ourselves to a highly individualistic mindset with little regard for collectivity. Some of us refuse to accept the notion that we are each others keepers.

Our young people, our minors are our responsibilities. We need to be more proactive in demanding and creating progressive and much need change in our society.

correction...our minors are our responsibility.

While I agree with the wider community and extended family responsibilities please let us not dilute the absolute and total responsibility of both the mother and the father for the upkeep of their child.

Our (society's) function is to support the parents in bringing up their child, not replace them except in extreme circumstances.

I am truly saddened by this news. This young lady should have been going to the cinema with her friends on a Saturday evening, and school during the week, not a mother and possibly a housewife.Sadly whats done is done, but I do hope that this is a wake up call to other young women who may be headed down that road, because no matter how much guidance we give our youth its ultimately their decision whether they choose the broad path or the narrow one.And remember St Lucia let us never stop praying for our youth.
