This is a great initiative that the Tapion hospital has undertaken to establish a cancer center here in St.Lucia. As many of us would know, the cost of travelling to another countries added to the treatment for cancer can be quite exorbitant. The cancer center here would most definitely provide patients and their families some relief when it comes to cost. In addition the patient will be close to family and friends and also established support groups.
i like to hear that its the only one in the region that is the english speaking islands .. i wonder if trinidad doesnt have such facilities or perhaps our greatest rival barbados.. ITS GREAT NEWS.. we are getting somewhere in the health care services.. soon a new general hospital next a new st judes hospital.. and perhaps a couple new polyclinics or upgraded ones in the next couple yrs.. NICELY DONE ST LUCIA ..soon we may have OECS citizens coming to st lucia for our advancing medical services and advancement..
oh I watched TED.COM and saw that jamaica has a complete & dedicated CARDIOVASCULAR HEART TREATMENT centre it would be nice if we could have a centre like that soon ..
That's really good; it may be a small step forward. Yet.... I am one of the people that believe there are better cures for Cancer. Based on info. I have looked up, I came across different way's to fight it from changing the way you eat ( Look up- Food Matters- a very important and informational documentary on food) to a cure called Hemp oil (Rick Simpson and what subsequently happened to him). The truth is out there, U jus need to research and keep trying.
sounds like a great idea, but my mother just found out that she has cancer and she said its cheaper to travel somewhere else than to do the surgery in St lucia which I think is CRAZY!
