Absolutely nobody is ever going to miss this useless organization but the Guyanese. It is a revenue-generating body for that country. The prime ministers who started this had a great sense of humour. But only successive Guayanese governments are laughing, and at the rest of us in the region. Good riddance to bad very rubbish.
The prime ministers who sited the HQ in Guyana had no sense of vision. How can you locate the HQ of a progressive organ in such a backward country? Why a more centrally located island not chosen to cut traveling costs? Those people were real fakes! They placed socialist ideology before common sense!
It is time to stop paying for the upkeep of Guyana. When will our own dummy politicians stop this foolishness?
caricom has failed i always knew it would .. a bunch of black men ..egos to big when they think Oh my island is more developed than yours and why should i allow poorer island citizens to access our economic wealth.. I MEAN we no betta than communist countries restricting their own citizens access to modernization..
i gave up on caricom a few yrs ago esp when they spoke of the economic union i even forgot what it is called again.. when i notice that every yr it was pushed back i realise that was the death nail of the caricom union.. they said by 2008 free movement of goods,services,people and professional jobs would be available .. giche tou jou.. I GAVE UP SO SHOULD U .. CARICOM is a waste of time.. i still wana give OECS a little more time to see how it unfolds.. we making very small strides but strides nonetheless... allow barbados,jamai think they run tings they are all a bunch of beggers like the rest of the region ... trust me.. a little hurricane proves that over and over again..
CARICOM has gone the way of the Federation.
Jamaica had refused to accept Trinidad as the capital for the Federation; now we are about to refuse Guyana as the capital for CARICOM. Black people just cannot come together.
