When the new tourism minister was appointed, there were many who made it seem like tourism in St. Lucia had died immediately. Many asked to keep Chastenet like he was St. Lucia's Moses. While I am not attributing the increase solely to the new minister, it's refreshing to see that the tourists did not stay away in droves like many had wished for, and predicted. I hope the upward trend with the increased arrivals continues.
i hope we can continue to thrive with tourist arrivals but i think the new minister should try to inject in the public eyes and gov ministers the need to get an investor to put up a theme park --play grounds, waterparks, rides, slides etc--- "so we can attract regional travellers who wish to stay closer to home" ---i have heard that expression elsewhere in the world but sadly never in the caribbean/st lucia
I mean we ve had enough talk of hotelsthat got started then stopped FIASCOs. we need new avenues to attract tourists and keep them entertained esp their kids who spur their parents to spend spend spend... i mean i am no college grad.. why cant someone try to get something else off the ground.. i am getting tired of not hearing new ideas new innovations... come on.. lets see how the 1st budget which tends to set the pace of the next 5 years... all eyes on you SLP...
