More scams happen in St. Lucia from local businessmen every day than those from Nigeria.
I was scammed by Lance Richard a local who used to give horse rides on the beach. he pretented to be in love with me and marry me. he was going to come to the states, but he had to have his court fees taken care of. He also quit his job because of his broken wrist, so I sent him a total of $20,000 over 4 months to help him with his bad luck. He conned me into sending him this money because he was suffering. Had many strokes of bad luck. Very very good liar and actor. Has the deep accent and is very pretty Rastaman. He has a live in girlfriend, but somehow he got me to stay at his place for a week to meet his mom and family. That convinced me he was for real. Found out he was a criminal and had $6000 court costs because of a violent crime he did against 3 men in November 2009. He is from Balata, but hangs out in Castries, Gros Inlet, Rodney Bay. He acts very down to earth and smooth, unlike most other St. Lucian men who are quite obvious in wanting sex or to sell you drugs.
