I agree with every sentiment express in this article. It is high time all whatever our political views demand a change of direction for Castries, Vieux Fort, Gros Islet, Rodney Bay the Island over.
This is another option for stimulating the economy in these difficult times.
A rat race in progress.
i should have said this much sooner..BUT KENNY ANTHONY HAS NO VISION..if he did or his party did we would have seen it by now- its their 3rd term in office...
St.lucia should be ashame that on 1 side it promotes Tourism & the other side its cities & towns are in a mess.. in all honesty Castries esp has huge potential in becoming the nicest sea port in all of the lesser antilles...
-1st the OLD CDC buildings have to GO..
-2nd Vieux Fort,Soufriere Esp..need much beautification such as cobblestone streets/parks, sidewalks, shopping plazas..
-3rd slp gov promise 2 build 2 bus terminals..they also need to look at bigger buses specifically for our towns..those buses would travel on the EAST/WEST COAST..& GROS ISLET.. we already have too many mini buses but there is def a place for mini buses in our country esp when it comes to driving passengers to the smaller communities & roads..

IMAGINE the CDC bldgs are replaced with restaurants,Museums,Plazas, BANKs... IMAGINE all the ghettos that encircle Castries replaced with green space such as parks/flowers.. imagine the whole castries harbour with modern shopping and entertainment facilities..such as casinos/Hotels..JUST IMAGINE..thats all we can do in this backward country.. with no standards, no vision, no innovation to lead the OECS/barbados..
one more point ... concerning the new financial centre.. i have no problem with it but the congestion that building will pose is a problem that would just escalate..
Maybe the GOV can reshape the SPORTS COMPLEX.. which is under utilized anyway .. and turn it into a car park facility or encoorperate a new building where the complex is right now with a car park in it..
