Time to stink.
Even when it rains there is no water in the mains.
WASA and its lousy management team, the most pathetic excuse for a public utility company! They only thing they are notable for is the sewage.
So only now you know about the silt? So many incompetent people, waiting till the very end, always reacting. What happens to being pro-active, didn't we learn anything from the last drought? Do you know that tourism is our largest industry and how do you suppose to maintain it? What about the population, do you even think about them? What are your contingency plans, or do you even have one? You people, WASCO et all, are official losers...choops.

We, Lucians, absolutely loves it the hard way - with a 7 branch whip on our back.
One would have thought and noted, as you said, the consequences of the last drought. But no. We indiscriminately throw plastic bottles around, knowing full well what will happen after a little rain. We indiscriminately waste water - washing our toys, so we could not be outdone by the other Jones'...TO HELL WITH CONSERVE.
We are our worse enemies. PERIOD.
Conservation is so important. The public really are ignorant about the measures that each of them should take. Every single house should be using water wisely. Nice to see that the unions want their 15 percent payrise when you can't even fix your own water supply!!!!
Well said John couldn't have written it any better.This should be breaking news on all news channel to make the public be aware of the severe problems St.lucians are facing and then they still want a pay rise.It beggars belief.
it goes without saying that repeatedly and nauseatingly, time and time again members of our political directorate convince us that they do not have even a smattering of knowledge about effecting managing our economy.
It is too easy to see that for most, that this is way beyond their tether.
They are just going through the motions.
This disgustingly amateurish pattern has been set over the years since colonial times!
Nationhood not has seen, nor has it brought us any semblance or evidence of greater national or notional maturity.
These amateurs deeply believe that it is all about making empty promises on their usual entertainment platforms at election time.
They continue to wallow in their disgusting mediocrity that it is about making recitals of statements cobbled together by permanent secretaries or technical people, of material that they themselves have not taken any time to understand and far less to internalize.
Government to them is a freak show that you live through to the next election to secure your power and generous pension, helping along the way your human echo-chambers, cheerleaders and political yardfowls. Then you continue to the next confounding freak show.
Over the fence in neighbouring Barbados, perhaps the best-run former colony of Britain ever, it is said that Mr. Tom Adams, with no unearned or academic doctorate title, would sit on information that he considered critical to proper running of his country.
Thus, as being done on the social networking sites, justly or unjusstly, he could not have been really accused of being a globe-trotter and of moonlighting, while collecting per diems and frequent-flyer miles.
To achieve this level of management control of mission critical government activities, (which of course depend on continuous monitoring and then taking corrective action), he would consistently by-pass the sitting heads of government agencies and departments, and speak directly to persons actually doing the necessary work or collecting the relevant data. Thus, he would get a real feel for what was actually being, or not being done -- and before anyone else!
He got the big picture!
Indeed, he knew something about being a manager; he was proactive.
He never sat on his hands waiting for the official stats, or published information. Give him the status quo.
Give him the provisional data.
In a water-depressed area that this country of ours is, and with global warming sensitivity, it goes without saying that the relevant minister should have been sitting on the details of the status of that dam.
In management terms that would first entail monitoring, and secondly, in effective management terms, that would require the taking of all necessary corrective or anticipatory action to put or keep the situation on track, where it should be.
Anything else is an infuriating repetition of a deeply disturbing pattern of gross government incompetence, and part and parcel of the routinely indisciplined abdication of duty by government ministers that goes to the heart of this question: What on earth does this prime minister do to justify his emoluments, his perks and his salary?
Mr. Prime Minister you have work to do.
It goes without saying, that the confounding irresponsible cabinet officer responsible should be fired!
Same old, same old. Nuth'in ever changes until it's too late.
St. Lucians as a whole are some of the dumbest people to walk the earth. But we are independent. Everybody cheer!!!! Then go piss into the wind for a shower.

I believe that most of us have been taken down the garden path believing that WASCO was about water.
Just like our governmwents, what a very cruel joke that this government agency continues to play on us! Bastards!
WASO's MANAGEMENT Team MUST GO; before any new rates are introduced.
Dirty Tricks are ahead. The Public has had enough of corruption at WASCO for much too long.
What the hell is wrong with the so-called Compton Dam that was supposed to do so much for water to the island.
Go to hell; you corrupt and tiefing rats.
Tiefing and corrupt rats; indeed these idiots at WASCO are calling themselves Managers.
One of them could not keep a job anywhere.
LUCELEC was wise to kick out the one it did; or else it would be another WASCO.
Blame the hotel industry. Instead of one swimming-pool per hotel, there are now dozens. Can we really afford to allow the hotels to utilize, and waste, so much water?
How does wasco intend on handling this? the year is still young and the sun is already present and blazing by 7 in the morning. If this alert has come up so early in the year, what is their approach for April to July? It has been three years since Thomas has come and gown, roads are still being fixed,however the damn was never looked at because no one paid it no mind. Multiple time I question the de-silting process, there is money in their pockets to commence this programme...god help this rock I love so..

WASCO has been a tiefing place for much too long.
What happened to all those millions kenny anthony put in WASCO in 1997 to take care of all the problems they were supposed to have.
No one, not kenny, not the CEO, not the so-called financial controller.
They must all get out and get out now. New rates in the same old wine bottles; will leave WASCO in the same all mess.
I agree with one of the bloggers, all management must go, before any new rates at WASCO. Or else we need to take protest action. The staff know and they talk about it; that management must go. So go they must.
They do not have the know-how/the acumen to get WASCO anywhere.
The problem with the all-powerful PM is this. He has never ever stood up to a government agency and demand greater efficiency from it in any meaningful way. He does not know how to adapt his management style to different situations.
Granted that he is honest and above board in finding solutions to national problems, we may be wrong on this, but giving him the benefit of the doubt, who does the same darn thing over and over again, and expects a different result? Yes of course, a mad man!
Fire the darn minister and WASCO'S management! Does the PM have the balls?
As a past civil servant he does not have any, they say.
