who these unions leaders think they are hurting, Lets face it there is a econic crisis all over the world. Goverments from each countries or islands are finding ways remain afloat some are slashing their workforce, some are decreasing percentage on salaries. I do believe that the goverment needed the vat in order to keep afloat Preety much all goverment rely on taxes to help mostlikely in the us and canada taxes is what they live through. The unions are a set of greedy people who are being push by whoever to do this at the expence of our children. Now suppose they got the 6 percent and later down the goverment starts falling into the crack, wouldnt it be wise if then the goverment put a 20 percent on vat, then whos to blame. The unions need to think long term and not short term and if they care about our children they will do what is right for the good of fair helen.
Blogger above: Maybe because King had agreed to give the unions the increase then tried to back out of it? That is different from what is currently going on. From the beginning Kenny said the increase King was giving was too high.
After King tried to change the agreement, Kenny came out and said the civil servants had to be given the increase because that had already been agreed on. Should he have sided with the civil servants even then? No, I don't think he should have. That was not a good decision for the country and even then he should have put country first. Our politicians don't care about country. They care about power.
