While education is important for self improvement and mobility, people must understand that opportunities must be available for individuals to make use of the education they have earned. Too many educated and degreed people are languishing in the unemployment lines. Obstacles must also be removed to allow these people to become entrepreneurs and to be creative. Policies are not in place to allow that, including loans to start businesses and projects. Education is important, but there must also be other things in place to make optimal use of that education.

UWI does not have a mission other than expansion. Notice how many of its students and courses are totally irrelevant to the business and economic realities of the region? Some cannot even perform adequately, efficiently and effectively at the highest government level even with doctoral degrees. The repeated meaninglessness emerging from CARICOM's annual communiques after each heads of government summit, and the continued monkey and glorified foolishness that passes for public policy in Saint Lucia evidence this much.
