Concerning Taiwanese gifts and computers: why hasn't that materially rich and advanced nation offered to set up computer-manufacturing businesses and a major transshipment center for Taiwanese products in St Lucia, if that 'generous' country really wants to help our little island with more jobs, jobs, jobs? Wouldn't that arrangement be a win-win situation for both island states?

It is these types of sound and well written articles explaining the facts to St. Lucians that we need much more of in this country.

Get rid of this wretched St. Lucia Labour/Trinidad PARTY.

It is nice to say get rid of SLP, but question is replace them with who? We have waiting in the wings the same dirt bags who put us in the MESS we ate in today. For 5 yrs with weekly SCANDALS and borrowing billions with NOTHING to show for it.

I agree that we may have been able to get these computers cheaper or as a gift from the Taiwan government but we must remember that this was a campaign promise. Therefore, the proposers of the initiative would have had their plan in place and we all know that there was not a clear understanding of where we stood in terms of diplomatic relations with Taiwan. So let's see what happens next year now that we've had this experience. I wouldn't put too much pressure on the administration for this one. It's always easy to look back at events and say, if, could or should. Having had the Rochamel experience though, I cannot understand how your friends, Jeff, could have gone into that deal that cost us the Black Bay lands and this deal to purchase the Daher building. Now we have this road contract issue with Asphalt and mining. Let me read your take on these Jeff
