The predatory tentacles of the banking sector even more gouging in ‘Have not’ states...

This is a very important issue which must be dealt with as a matter of urgency.
About three to four years ago, the FIRST CARIBBEAN BANK instituted as fee to be debited from persons accounts which fell below a certain amount; which I do not remember the amount right now. But it was a ridiculous amount; that the average Saint Lucian would hardly ever have in their savings accounts; and that includes hundreds of Government Public Officers.
I do not know if this CRAP still exist with the FCB. If this is so; they must be ordered to cease this offensice practice; and if this matter goes to Court they will certainly lose; as well as the charges banks put on customers when their credit card or loan payments are late. There is no legal basis for this; and the Courts would rule against it.
I believe that the banks know they are doing things that do not have a legal basis; but they know that generally folks don't take the matter to Court. I believe this is a matter Martinus Francois or Mary Francis can take up.
