With the prevalence of deaths during such school events, it may be necessary to have intending participants do a medical prior to the event. I'm not a doctor nor am I aiming to fatten their bank balances. But I think measures should be put in place to determine the suitability of individuals for such events even if the cost has to be passed on to the school.

Not only that but the actual race must be medically managed from start to finish, including having medical personnel on hand before the start of as well as during the race.

I do not think that we should stand idly by while the lives of our young people are cut cruelly short.

Let us investigate all options to reduce the risk of deaths in this way andbput more value on the life of ourselves and others.
