Mr Giraud, you failed to mention "CANCER" which is also on the rise within our St Lucian populace - and at an alarming rate as well. Both male and female are afflicted with the disease. It is a shame that we have been subjected to an imported and fast food culture. Many mothers give their children money to buy "lunch", and you usually see 90% of these young people with a soft drink - no doubt chock filled with carcinogens!!! Over to you mothers .... (guavas are considered to be anti carcinogenic - an all-rounder healthy fruit)

Hi there. I stumbled on to this webpage after I googled "is St. Lucia poor?" I agree with your thoughts completely when it comes to our foods but we also need to educate people about diet. I speak about diet probably everyday to my clients and sometimes I wonder if he/she is listening. Knowledge is power. We need to understand our machines to make them work better. Some don't know where to start. I plan to vacation there in March and wondered if there was something I could bring for the children that they do not have. Of course I can't bring everything but if there was one thing I could bring in abundance what would that be?
Please email me at mkdren@comcast.net Thank you! K
