The person who spoke about pit latrines, praise God you are in New York, now you do not know about pit latrines any more. St Lucia has developed, not everybody still uses pit latrines. Some St Lucians live a more comfortable life than you all in that cramp up, roaches, bugs and rat infested apartments in New york. You had to go to New York to have a flushing toilet. That shows you have not developed yourself, you have to clean these flushing toilets at your baby sitting job also.

The writer is not wrong for saying that Kenny's visit to New York was misrepresented. I was with the them all weekend long and fail to have seen what was reported back to St Lucia. I even wore a red jersey to uncover the deception. By NY standards it was a failure at all levels.
So which is it, Denys? Are you a fearless friend of the UWP--or a supporter of the SLP? Or do you wish to have it both ways.
Denys position is that of a great number of St Lucians. In the world that we live today I don't think that any intelligent person should be tied down to party loyalty. They do good you praise them, they fool around you dump them. It's as easy as that!

We must always dump a party for something BETTER and not for dumping sake. We should NEVER make that mistake again as we made in St Lucia, to dump a working government, even though they make a few mistakes, as all government does. Then replace them with a worse, non working, incompetent, scandalous, semi literate etc, etc government
A few mistakes? How Dare you claim that Rocahmel, Step/Henry Charles, Cost Overrun, Helen Air, Helenites Gate, Mansion in Rye, Excessive borrowing, rising crime under the SLP was a few mistakes and counting.
Yeah things did not work out as expected, but Kenny and the SLP got what they deserve. It's this kind of arrogance that makes a lot of people mad. The SLP refuse to accept that after 9 1/2 years in office they had lost touch with the people that really mattered. Even now at 2 1/2 years in opposition they are still not sure how to get back in good favour with the people of St Lucia. They have the same old people driving their engine, walking around beating the heads of St Luicans as it WE THE PEOPLE OF ST LUCIA OWE THE SLP AN APOLOGY FOR REMOVING THEM FROM OFFICE.
HOW ABOUT THE SLP ISSUING AN APOLOGY TO THE PEOPLE OF ST LUCIA FOR TAKING THEM FOR GRANTED? HOW ABOUT TELLING THE PEOPLE OF ST LUCIA THEY ARE TRUELY SORRY FOR BREAKING THE "CONTRACT OF FAITH" WITH THEM.
This to me would go a long way in demonstrating to the people of St Lucia that the SLP has seen the errors of their ways and that they have repented and gotten reid of those fellas that drain the country of its scarce resources.
How about that for some show of HUMILITY!!!!!!!!!!
As unhappy as we are about the UWP, the worse thing we can do to is bring back the "old SLP" i.e a party that has not understood why it lost power and is not clear about what it must do to convince the electorate that it has changed. I am all for kicking out the UWP but I am not all for kicking in the SLP. I am really hoping a new Party can come forward with new, bright, committed and untarnished individuals with a clear track record of service and an understanding of the workings of Government and of the world.
All you so called uwpeeeeees, could campaign how you want, on this forum or on the media on the papers, but you all will NEVER fool St Lucian again, and Kenny MUST WIN the next election. You all could come with all that RACHAMAL, HELL AIR, HELEN MITE, CRIME, COST UNDERAN, EX BORRROWING etc, etc, you must check how much this government has borrowed, you must what they have done to stop crime as they promised. St Lucians tired of hearing that, come with something new. This time the people will never let the media confuse them, we voted for something better and we are getting something WORSE. You asking slp to apologise to the public, did Compton ever apoligise, to gain re election, because he made more mistakes than the slp, if you do not know make your reshearch? I will say it again, and it is a FACT, any new party coming on stream now, will only cause the slp to win EASIER. There are no untarnished people anywhere who will not make mistakes in government.
You too can run your mouth all you want in here and in the media. It does not change a thing about other peoples views of the SLP and Kenny Anthony.

It's one thing before an election to claim you are going to win, which is typical SLP BS, and another thing to actually come up with a win. Look at the Members of Parliament in the House and tell me how many deserve to be there based on past performance.

Rufus Tuker claimed that he has a degree, which was proven to be false, so what job can he get if not on name? Who do St Lucians want in office? Answer that question?
Do not be angry at me, ask Chastament how much money is MISSING or DISSAPEARED without trace from the tourist board. Without Chastanet giving us the correct amount you and i have the right to specualate the amount. Maybe if that had happenned under the slp you would have already known all the details. One man can NEVER steal government money, in the way it was done because there is to much red tape to get any moneys from government coffers, they just sent one man away, to cover up the stuation, to try to bluff us St Lucians. All the time the situation was covered and hidden up as if it was a private affair, until it was discussed on a talk show. Chastanet came and tried to tryed to blame the slp, but Pierre proved him a liar on live TV. Anyway it is not to long when we will take this incompetent government off our backs, and put back the slp to continue the massive developement they started in the country.

People complaining about a bad government and SLP looking so weak in the background. Maryanna Williams kicking Kenny left right and centre, making chare labour supporters pressure to rise. When they thought it was smooth sailing and their little pack of bandits would return to power without a fight some are talking about third party. What going on there. Why would Chastanet be involved in something like this when 300 Grand are like pennies to him? The man doesn't need money, he just want to serve his homeland so let him be. What have you all done for your homeland lately?
Nobody said Chastanet stole any money, what we Lucians are saying IS, because of his incompetence, the hard tax payers money went missing UNDER HIS NOSE because he is to busy take caring of his own hotel instead of doing the work that we are paying him to do. Do not fool yourself everybody need more money. The rich man ALWAYS want to get richer. How do you know Chastanet does not need money anyway. Do you know big business go bankrupt, although i am not saying that is Chastanet case, because i do not know. Chastanet is not the only contributing to St Lucia, everybody does it in their way, the poor banana farmers, copra farmers, fishermen etc were the ones sustaining St Lucia for a long time, Whiles people like CHastanet were sucking on their sweat. I have worked in St Lucia all my life, on my banana plantation, and the government service etc. So i have contributed.
Can the same principle be applied to Kenny Anthony? Do you want me to start listing the amount of $$$ that disappeared or could not have been accounted for under his care? Don't even make me start with STEP. I ain't even touching Rochamel...

By the way, the only trainned and competent Finance Min we ever had in St Lucia was John Compton. Even under his care strange things happen. Let this be an example of how poor the rest really are when compared to Compton.
What money that was missing under STEP? This is the first time i am hearing about ? Why was that not included in the commission of enquire, which was another waste of money. what training Compton had in finance that Kenny did not have, Compton was only an ordinary lawyer. Compton ran the country when things were easy, the banana industry, copra was pumping millions every week in the country, AID was easily available because of the cold war. In the time of Compton was the most corrupt era St Lucia ever experienced in history, that is why Odlum annd Josie etc could have campaigned and defeat the uwp.. I cannot remember all but i will list some that i can remember from my head. The UN fund scandal, i cannot remember the sum, Rufus Tucker was involved. The missing millions from MC&W with minister Fostin being involved, he had to be fired. The 50 million shot fall in the SLBGA which slp had to clear when they came into power. The corruption that use to go on with the money of wind insurance after a storm. The budget never use to balance under Compton, there was always millions in short fall, so how was him the best minister of finance? With all Kenny faults he had the country moving.
Compton and Kenny were very much alike, they were both vindictive people.
Compton did his degree in Economics and Law at the London School of Economics and was then called to the Bar. So ber leh esh

Please tell who is the most prepared or experience person to lad the country now. I personally will see, any new person or people coming in now, will start making many mistakes before they catchup, and we cannot with stand that now in St Lucia.
Compton was not as vindictive as Kenny. Compton gave jobs to those who despised him. May be it's becasue he understood that in politics an eneny is a vote to be won and not ignored. While in power he set the example. He did not spend what he did not have. He made sacrifices. He drove himself in his own jelapy and did not accept security. What did Keny do when he came in? He gave himself a hefty salary icnrease; he bought a BMW and gave himself 24/7 police protection. He even built a security hut at his private home. even that hut was a cost overrun.
Let us just say Compton was saint and he had no sins. Kenny had all the sins. I think it was because of Compton sins Kenny came into power in the first. You remember Compton was so discredited he had to retire and came back after 9 yrs because he know St Lucians forget fast. So where was the policemen placed at Compton private residence? Were they left in the rain? Compton even had police protection when he was at his concuebines homes at night, that was what the special branch in the force was for, i am speaking from experience. So what was the police doing detailed a Compton office, was he not security? Kenny brought himself a BMW, but Compton use to buy cars for under age school girls. There were many cost over ran projects under Compton eg. the millieun highway, but they were not use as a political football. About jobs, that is not what the slp votes were saying, they were saying uwp supporter are getting most of the work, eg Bitason was supervisor in the STEP programme.
Yep, that's the biggest failure of the PMs, they fail to realize that they are PM of the whole country and not just the districts who voted for them. Small minded and vindictive I say.

See how dem red mealy bugs does get on when you hit them? Compton never use Treasury money for personal business. What was the cost overrun on the Millennium Highway? Compton started that project and Kenny finished it. If there was any cost overrun, Kenny is responsible too. Kenny paid nearly $30K to build s small hut that could be built for $10K. Deal wid DAT!!!
Prove to us that Compton never used treasury money to do he personal business, having security for the PM is NOT personal business, Compton also had security at our expense. Paying $3000 or $4000 rent for King, when we are paying for an official residence for him. So what you telling me, the PM just go to a project and dellibrately put more money into it? Compton started the highway, when Kenny came into office the money had already finished, so for the project to continue, the money had to be provided. The costing of projects are done by professional not by the politicians, some of them know nothing about costing.
Are you a professional, how did you come up with the figure for the hut? Do you have the drawing or plan of the hut?

The game is now being played in St Lucia, uwp spoke so much against the IMF, how it is a bad thing, and they will never deal with them, now they borrowing money from that same IMF. Without even educating the public about the arrangements of the loan. This is causing people to be concerned in the country. The people who are saying slp borrowed and left the country in debt, must try to add up the amount uwp have borrowed in 2 1/2 yrs. so far, just last month they borrowed 250 million, now they borrowing another 38 million from the dreaded IMF. That is not all they have borrowed. At lease if you go to St Lucia you see the schools, prison, police stations, fire stations, highways, sport stadium etc, etc, that Kenny did with the money he borrowed, but we see nothing happening in St Lucia and so much is being borrowed.
Go and ask Kenny why he force this government to turn to IMF. Kenny is responsible for where we are financially.

The financial slide did not start yesterday. The constant burrowing is a legacy left to us by Kenny Anthony. This government inherited his sh.t and everyone knows that.
Kenny borrowed but everybody can see what the money was used for, highways,schools, prison, police stations, fire stations, stadiums, car park, offices etc, etc. But this government have borrowed just as much on average and there is nothing to show for the money. That is the difference, they have also wasted a lot of out tax moneys. If you are interested i will list some of the waste for you.

Money was spent on inquiry nothing wrong was found. So i do not have anything much to say about Rochamel. The question i want to ask, what was wrong with STEP? You do not consider in the hard graver season we have 2 diplomas in New York, doing what? as lavish spending? are you blind to this one? The whole family of Sara Flood is in New York, with the government having to take care of them. We have an oversized government, that is also waste, two ministers in education, doing what? Tassa mangal is brought in, to bloat the cabinet. The controller was transfered and a post was created for him, is that not waste? When they changed Sara as speaker, a new speaker was brought in instead of using Marcus is already the deputy and Janice Compton who supposed to be already in government. etc, etc, etc. This government came in power promising us change, but they are worse when it comes to waste. The differences is, with all slp waste they were working, this government is wasting and not much work is happening.
uwp is doing as much work as the SlP was doing and perhaps more. The only thing that most of us fault the UWP for is not boasting as much as the SLP did.
SLP used China's money to build white elephants for us all over the place, the UWP is using Tia money to put computers in school, teach St Lucians about agriculture, providing scholorships, building health ctrs in small communities, and doing what matters most to the people of St Lucian among loads of other stuff.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, tell us, what are "White Elephants". so why are the government not boasting as you said but educate the public of all the invisible work they are doing? Things like computers are considered to be furniture and no serious government should need a foreign government specifically to furnish schools for them, mind me i am not saying, we do not need computers, but we should do that for ourselves have the foreign to built the schools for example, if they are serious of helping us. Where and what has the tiawaneses taught us about agriculture? Which health center has the uwp built? I know they changed a H.C name to wellness center. What is the uwp doing that matters to us most?
