Good sense prevailed. That's an encouraging sign. That's how we must deal with our problems. Excellent. I give those responsible an A. Don't try looking for the messenger to shoot him in the foot or mouth. Listen to the message and take heed. So we don't repeat our national mistakes with disgrace, over and over and over.We must know well, where we are as a nation, the errors we have made, for no one is perfect, and learn from our mistakes.Correct them, and move on. The country must always be placed first on the agenda. That way, everyone wins. We must ensure that the opportunists don't continue business as usual. That way, they alone pile up the millions, the few that is, and the majority suffers. nOW, LET US MOVE ON.

"Chapman added that as part of the scholarship deal, the students are expected to maintain high grades and to pay it forward by inspiring others to take education seriously. "

Does anyone know what is the GPA that the students have to maintain in order to keep their scholarships for the entire 3 years.

Aren't we missing something here? How is sending these 29 students to a US university a success story? What are their plans after they graduate? Is there work for them in St. Lucia? Do they even plan to come back to develop the country? All this has done is to send our foreign exchange to a rich country instead of to UWI where these students would have gotten the same education at one third of the cost and kept their talents in the Caribbean.

Which part of UWI on all three campuses boast of a world-wide reputation today? Where but in the heart of capitalism is it best to study business?

Worldwide reputation? We need to develop the region. A UWI degree is recognised everywhere. We have students from every continent.

Don't sidetrack the issue. Have any of these students been bonded to ensure they return to the country to work here?

Most of the students are bonded to work and regardless ifthey weren't they all have expressed their desire to come back to develop St. Lucia. I can say so because I am one of them.
