Magiee is what I see King talking there. These fellas don't have a clue what to do.

Kenny too better keep his mouth shut. He brings nothing to the table except talk, and more talk!

What a hypocrite!!!!

Anonymous said...

King is a disgrace.Keep him off the international media please.

laws need to be changed, then the Marine unit really needs to be beefed up.. because that's how the drugs and guns come. The big boys in society have the lil poor fellas pushing the coke for them.

Anonymous said...

First of all, its starts from the top.

The head, or boss of the drug trade in St Lucia is in the King's administration. He needs to go; then the ineffective Home Affairs minister needs to follow in that fashion too. He needs to go.

How can we stop this when glaringly there is drug baron in your administration?

As for King he is a big margee, Kenny as well. Ineffective words laced with treacles.

Wasn't just a few days ago, not even a week yet, this commissioner was parading all over the newspaper saying how good or how marvellous a job he is doing? What has changed that tone within a few days!! USELESS, the lot of you!!

Go ahead, blame the little man for all your ills, meanwhile you have drug baron, with coat and tie, sitting prettily in your cabinet.

Anonymous said...

"He called on the public to cooperation with the police department in that fight"...How can the public cooperate with the police, when the police CANNOT be trusted with any information given them?

You're kidding me, are you not? Unless you are signing your death warrant and not in the right frame of mind, go ahead, furnish the police with information!! Rest assured, before long, the police will give those same criminals the names of those who gave them the information. Pathetic.

Anonymous said...

Clearly King not ready yet!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Is that the same King and uwp who campaigned on the premised of lowering the crime rate? Now, he even have St Lucia's most famous drug lord in his cabinet.

Margee!!

Simpliy tough talk from government, opposition and the police will not reduce crime in fear helen and neither will a change of government. We must be realistic in our approach to fighting crime and stop this appling plasters today on a septic sore. There must be a change of strategy with a long term view for the expextant results.
Fighting crime requires the effort of eavery member of society and the equipment and skills of an effective accountable police force. Yes it will require money but not an indefinite amount as some think - The money required is for training and skilling police in collecting, preserving and presenting evidence not just simple eyewitness but forensic. The gathering of evidence to prosecute suspects, aiding and abetting a crimine or criminal activity by others is very important. Also accountability accross all levels within the police force which I dare say is lacking and have always been.
It also requires every politician whatever party or persuasion to stop playing politics with the crime situation in the country as this gives the few criminals the wrong message - that our public leaders are not serious about fighting crime or equiping the the law enforcement department to fight criminals.
I must say some of the comments of a drug lord in cabinet is very irresponsible gossip as there has not been one shread of evidence presented to substaniate this claim even when the last adminstration prime minister alleged he had evidence - but never did the decent thing and gave that evidence to the police to enable a prosecution.
This is the main issue with fighting crime in our society, we choose to peddle gossip, allegations against the police (corruption), etc. and even our politicians participate in this activity to win votes and get into office. Hence we have the situation of continued crime escalation in fair helen and young people lose hope in the system of government.
I appeal to all to stop this shouting and talking tough as it is hollow, come together and change direction.

Anonymous said...

Yes, boyblue, you are correct. It requires money for training, et al to fight the crimes in St Lucia.

The $135,000k/monthy or $1.6 million a year the UWP government is paying ((just to satisfy the inflated ego of a convicted criminal) to a private individual could be spent equipping and training the police force.

How about that?

Anonymous said...

Yes, I quite agree...it's just tough talk. In all that tough talking the Prime Minister has not come up with one plausible suggestion on how to deal with the escalating crime on the island. From what I have gathered from this article it is going to be some serious shoot outs at the "Ok Corral." What is going to be happening is that the Police will match their prowess with that of suspected criminals and then innocent citizens will get caught up in the crossfire. In other
words, the Prime Minister is subtly declaring Martial law on the citizens of Saint Lucia where Police will shoot first and ask questions later. Does he really believe that creating a police state will make things better? Fighting Fire with Fire has never solved the crime situation in any country so King had better get a grip. It seems to me, the Prime Minister lacks the wisdom and the gumption to lead...His brain has gone mushy and now he wrings his hands in despair. His ministers are worse and the Police Chief is just a puppet in the whole scheme of things! I totally despise politicians but this is not about who is wrong and who is right or who is talking for the sake of talking. The issue is that we have a real volatile situation here which our so called Minister for Internal Affairs tried to downplay and our Prime Minister cannot deal with. So far I have not heard one politician suggest that the way to go is to consult with the "People." Have a town hall meeting or something and let the people speak and take part in the discussions for a way forward in this crime situation. Trying to strong arm criminals have never ever worked in any society... all this create is more hatred, strife, more revenge killings violence and problems for any nation. Listen to the voices of the people and it will be known where and how to proceed. Our so called leaders and authorities seem to be playing guessing games at what are the reasons behind these criminal activities rather than trying to find the causes. If you have no inkling what is causing the problem how can you resolve it?

Anonymous said...

One of the cause of the problem(s): Get rid of the drug baron in your administration; it does not augur well for St Lucia that a well know drug baron is a cabinet minister. Get rid of him.

Get rid of Guy Mayers; he is cluessless and ineffective.

As one "anonymous" said, get the people involve in town halls meetings, get their ideas, opinions, viewpoints, get us ALL involve in the process of finding solutions to this evil confronting us now. Make us part of the solutions so we could have a better appreciation of fighting this evil.

By just coming on TV, talking tough (without actions), will not cut it for us. Wasn't a few months ago Stephenson King was on TV talking just as tough? End results: a few more shootings with the police "investigations are continuing"...SICK!

Anonymous said...

Fellow St Lucians:
How many things have King say to the nation and it is true.
If King have made 50 statements to us, 49 of them are pure lies.
If King greet me good morning I have to look at my watch to see if it is morning in truth.
So what he has said there is another LIE.

Juke Bois

Anonymous said...

Boyblue you gave a very good insight into a solution for these problems ever thought of being a politician......or maybe you are one!!!! Unless corruption within the force is dealt with nothing else can happen.

Anonymous said...

BLOGGER above, you have the nerve to refer to corruption within the FORCE? Which FORCE? The FORCE, or any other citizen who follows wrong, is mirroring their leaders in Government. That's why St. Lucia is now in a hell-hole. You all have such short memories.

The recent case in the OECS COURT of Appeal, regarding the Keith Mondesir Case, spelt the situation in Government clearly. This Government is not fit to be any Government. At the Government level, they covered up criminality. A government Minister, Keith Mondesir, defrauding the State from customs duties. Allen Chastanet covered-it up, aided and encouraged by all those who sat in Cabinet that day. So much is going on that is wrong. What about the young lady who was kicked and became paralyzed by a big, influential UWP ? And Keith Mondesir, lawlessness in that matter. Ministers becoming an affront to the Police, when they were cautioned for illegal traffic violations? So much, to refer to. John Compton bringing a man like Ausbert D'Auvergne in a Government, notwithstanding the notorious United Nations Scandal and the Commission of Inquiry's findings, led by Blom-Cooper.

This is what is wrong in St. Lucia. Corrupt Government Ministers aided and abetted by Government high-ranking Permanent Secretaries and other key functionaries. Don't try finding a scape-goat. You bully and coward. Get the facts.

Anonymous said...

A M E N!! Above anonymous!! The fact is: this government is corrupt. Modesir, drug baron, convicted criminal, victimization (drug baron), etc etc...

Using an ailing old man, full of god knows what kinds of ailments to fulfill their desires!!

Mondesir, drug baron, King, Mayers, the 7 days adventist man...God hate UGLY!! You all will pay for bringing St Lucia how it is today...Kenny, you included too!!

Anonymous said...

What we need now is to pack both King and Kenny in a corner and move on with St Lucia!!!!

They both are king and tony of bullshit!!

Anonymous said...

Boyblue? Little boy, go to bed! Every St. Lucian knows that the head of the drug gangs is the Cabinet of the St. Lucian government.

A lot of people know also that one of the henchmen, if you can call the hermaphrodite he, of the drug baron is a very vicious and heartless killer. The police can do nothing about him because she/he is protected by the drug baron in cabinet.

When the police want to make a move, pee-in-his-pants Home Affairs tells the real PM and the police cancels the raids. The puppet PM is just making the usual noise.

He can do absolutely nothing without the approval of the drug baron, who is the real PM of the country.

All this talk about fighting crime is insulting to intelligent people who know who is really calling the shots in this country.

Don't waste our time Boyblue aka Jukebois. Talk your crap to the ignorant people you can fool on the radio.

The longest day has an end.

Anonymous said...

It is such a tragedy the state of the crime situation back home. I remember earlier in the year the PM with the Minister of National Security came on television and told the nation that they were going to reduce crime by 50%. Instead it has gotten to its highest number ever for a long time now. And almost 11 months after this statement was made the PM comes to say its time to talk tough and I am suppose to take u seriously. So in essence it took the gov't so long to release that crime was a major problem in the country.

Did the gov't actually think that putting in a new police commissioner would solve the problem. Isn't this new Police commissioner one of the top ranking official under the old police commissioner. Thus, if the previous police commissioner was a failure then he too is a failure. Isn't this the same guy who when the young man got stabbed in castries on the square said that under no condition is the police suppose to use the police vehicle to transport injured person to the hospital whereas some months later we saw these same police officers rush up yardie after he had been shot to place him at the back of a police van. And with him now as commissioner i'm suppose to be satisfied...Well I am not.

Come on...Where are the various situational analysis they have carried out, where are the strategies to deal with crime, where are the program to assist the youth. Are you'll seeing it St. Lucia because I clearly am not.

I would like here to take a vote of NO CONFIDENCE towards this government.

Anonymous said...

A blogger said earlier that the BOSS of the Barons is HIGH up in the government, so HOW on earth will the Police handle these problems? Some Lucians REFUSE to take this seriously, because of their Party colours. But we will SOON SEE when the American FBI and the CIA will deal with that same HIGH up government official, who they have been investigating concerning the strange death IN ST. LUCIA, of a young American who used to export cars to St. Lucia some years ago. WE SHALL SOON SEE. Now concerning this article when it is said "Toward that end, specific measures were therefore agreed to, the operational details of which were left to the police." Which measures? As soon as these measure are arranged, the HIGH UP boss man in there will simply tell his fellas in the ghettoes what these measures are. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE LUCIANS!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Are you for real, the commissioner calling the criminals cowards! no they are not cowards they are only doing what criminals do and having they way. There have to take more drastic measures in fighting crime. Demolish hot spots ,increase jail time and stiffer faster sentencing.

Anonymous said...

In which section of the prison would you hold a criminal doing a long prison term who has both male and female sexual organs?

Kenny did not plan for that, you say?

Anonymous said...

To be convincing, King has to fire both the jailbird and the drug lord from the cabinet. He can do neither, because as someone said the other day, instead of balls he has two powder puffs.

Only when King has done that will he be able to convince anybody that he has what it takes to be a PM. We know that he can read speeches.

Actions speak louder than words. Talk is cheap.

Anonymous said...

Why is it, that when the Government and the Police agrees to put measures in place, that they must make it public before any action is taking place? Is that part of our civil code? Because I connot understand, we have a crime wave that is destroying the social fabric of our beautiful country. And Government and the police chief insist on comming to the public first. I would like some one to educate me on such matters.

Anonymous said...

Passing the buck, they are now putting the onus on the public. The public did not say that it was going to reduce crime by 50 percent. No! It was the lying politicians who will say anything the next time around to get elected. That is all they care about.

To the question as to where to put the Godfather of the she-man, put it in a maximum security jail. Oh yes! I forgot that Kenny built a hotel. Maximum insecurity is what we have.

Anonymous said...

An influential section of the police in part of the apparatus of the drug trade in St. Lucia. The drug lord manipulates the police force and subverts justice. Secure in his location in cabinet, he like his untouchables are the greatest source of crime in St. Lucia.

The so-called PM knows this. He is aware of this. He is knowledgeable enough to know that without the removal of the cancer within the cabinet, there is no solution. He has to get that man's hands away from his back as in the puppet show he just gave us.

Give us a break. We know the truth. We know what is happening.

AT LEAST KING NEVER BEG CRIMINALS TO GIVE THE PEOPLE OF VFORT A BREAK FOR CHRISTMAS HE TOLD THEM IT WOULD NOT BE SEASON FOR THEM (YOULL MUST REMEMBER SINSE WHEN THESE CRIMINALS GET THESE POWERS IS WHEN VELON SAID ONCE WHEN THEY BURN THE PRISONS DONT TOUCH HIS BOYS I HOPE YOU (UFO'S)REMEMBER THIS

Anonymous above. Your bad English, if indeed one could "that" English, is indicative of your ignorance and backwardness.

We are all entitled to our opinion, but surely what passes here as government is really a pappyshow. Drug baron, convicted criminal, liars (under oath), tax evaders, seller of medical records, et al, all the above ills could be found in your beloved forever uwp and the King's administration.

Anonymous said...

That speech was a glorious triumph of form over substance. There was nothing new here. King is supposedly presiding over a gang of political harlots and political bandits.

That person absolutely and thoroughly is an idiot!! Now, mind you, this conversation is between you and I, not him or her. As you rightfully pointed out, costs-over-run has nothing with criminal elements having cabinet position. Is that even too hard for him/her to fathom?

Anonymous said...

That party hack is one of the hordes that was too dumb to understand that John Compton only wanted to place his name on everything St. Lucian and the man a blasted foreigner.

While he and his outlaw gangs looked like a deer caught in a headlight; I just finished read on the Voice of another gruesome murder in Gros Islet.

So much for 50% crime reduction!!
