Judgement day is coming for those jokers!!!
"King's annoucement...urging St Lucians to judge his government on its records of achievement..."
ACHIEVEMENT; what achievement?
Achievement (online dictionary), could be described as "something accomplished, especially by superior ability, special effort, great courage, etc.; a great or heroic deed."
What has being accomplished are the infighting, scandals, revoking of visas, ex con, under invoicing, ministers arrested left, right and center, alledged drug lords, per the US State Dept and WikiLeaks. etc, etc...
It will take me a week just to review King's kinds of accomplishments - all negative.
This is a chance for St. Lucians to fall in line with the rest of the world and demand change. DON'T vote for a party that has done nothing at all. When times are hard we must choose a LEADER a candiate that can move this country in the right direction. King can't even lead his own party.
Tell them my brother. Nothing was done by this government, and they want us to put them back in power. I am a UWP, but those fellas won't get my vote. My vote will be going to the ST. LUCIA LABOUR PARTY. that is the party that will take ST. Lucia very far. Dr Kenny D Anthony I voting for Prime Minister of this country.

The UWP must win, it is best for the people. St Lucia needs stability and they have done a good job under difficult circumstances. Kenny Anthony has had his day and is tired now... Is he/she serious about stability when this government spent nearly three of its five years in internicine warfare the object of which was to fulfill the ambition of Richard to "rise to power" (his own words in his resignation address)? And has since then not been able to get its act together blaming its incompetence on everything from the world financial crisis to too much red tape by international financial institutions who will not disburse funds to a bunch of plunderers who would rather not account for how they administer loan funds which we have to repay.

Well my Lucia people, here we are and the time has come to get a break from all these political damage. We now have the apportunity to decide for a change or confirm that what we have is better. Let us call on those who are seeking to represent us to tell us how they intend to address the many issues that we are confronted with at this time. Not a barage of disrespect on a platform. The present government must tell us how they intend to deal with the issues which is before us. We also need to know why you did not deal with it during the last five years and why you have to wait until after election. Can we trust this?
We also need clarification on the level of poverty, unemployment, whether lucia is still the second poorest country in the caribbean after Haiti, the number of Lucians who lost their homes, business, equipments, due to thier inability to meet the bank. Whether enough was done to create apportunities to secure these people who were willing to work get work to secure their investments.
Are we now better off than we were before the last election. Are the majority of our people happier now than they were 5 yrs ago? This election will tell us what the true story is.
But for me, I have never had it so bad within a five year government in the history of Saint Lucia. I will not be supporting this present administration for another term.
For me it is six of one, half dozen of the other in this elections. An incompetent political leader who already failed going against an inept PM leading a corrupt set of thugs.
Having said that I sense on the ground that the UWP are gaining the advantage because of their vast election spending.

Jeanine Compton is no honest politician; not as long as the blood of John Compton runs in her veins. She is sooo concerned about the neglect of the people of Micoud when her pappy was the one in power the entire time. Your FATHER ignored them not just the UWP. She stood with the UWP throughout years of corruption. She saw how they treated her father and she was aware of the unscrupulous characters in that party yet she stood with them. She only made a run for it when they showed her the same thanks they showed her father.
If the UWP's vast pre election spending gives them another term then it really is a reflection on how much St.Lucians have deteriorated and accept mediocrity for success. I used to be proud to call myself St.Lucian, I lived in St.Kitts for years and knew I could hold my head up in any discussion when "small island" talk came up. We were always the country to emulate. Now it seems each minister or candidate on the governing side has an issue with upholding the law, corruption allegations, etc. I wonder what other Prime Ministers think of our current PM, maybe snickering every time he opens his mouth......if he's what passes for leadership and intelligence, far less for the populace. What is even more disturbing is that persons accept this as standard, so called media personalities blatantly ignore the crumbling society and continue to blame the opposition for the fiasco of a government we have had for the last five years. I'm voting for issues, I have not felt economic growth, I know too many unemployed educated folks with solid educational backgrounds, too many persons who cannot pay mortgages, school loans, hospital bills, school bus fares, groceries
I don't think the SLP can miraculously change things around, but I'm willing to bet the candidates are willing to try.
If the so called grass root projects, rum, chicken and money in a t-shirt are what St.Lucians are looking for then we really do deserve five more years of pain, embarrassment and suffering. On Nov 28th I will not be voting for party but for positive change, and UWP is the farthest cry from that.

Fellow St. Lucians, the News paper asked to discuss the story published, but emotions are so high that many have gone astray and away from the story, even calling names. Let's pray that each one puts on his/her thinking cap and be objective on election day.
Remember, you the voters are the Hirining Managers. You the voter need to hire the person that will do a good job for you and your children thus benefitting your country - St. Lucia.
Put aside all emotions, favoritism, party favors, gifts received, short term jobs for a quick dollar and THINK.

What service are you looking for to be delivered in your business ?
Who is well educated and capable of delivering. Lots of nice and polished words at the Boulevard, but performance is the other side of the equation.
You do not have to love someone or go to bed with to hire that person. You do not have to be emotioned tuned up to do the hiring of the best person to do your job.
At his junction in the political arena, there is no one but Dr. Kenny Anthony who will be able to take St. Lucia to the international political arena.
Do not be closed minded, the world does not revolve around St. Lucia and St. Lucia cannot stand on its own. The day will come when we will have open debates between the top two political leaders whereby, the nation could have a preview of
quality leadership.
Remember, when the month ends, emotions and party don't pay the mortgage or the rent or put food on the table. Can you do with a few more dollars now ? I could !

what difference does it make if people in St. Lucia get a "manifesto" We very well know that most St. Lucians do not care about or vote on the issues. I have never seen a set of such DELUDED individuals. A young woman said that she is happy that the UWP gives money to people because it can send their children to school for 3 months. She gave no thought to the next 3 months or 3 years beyond that. In that moment I feared for the future of St. Lucia. People find nothing wrong in living hand to mouth and waiting with bated breath for favours from politicians.
