Tourism Minister Allen Chastanet is of the view that the country owes a debt of gratitude to Royal Caribbean International for bringing the project to the forefront.
---
Allan for your education Royal or any other business only invest to make a profit, ROI--return on investment, St.Lucia does not owe any gratitude - stop kiss dark spots.

Wake up and stop taking credit Mr. Chastenet, this facelift (redevelopment) for Castries started under the SLP government. The UWP government made some changes at the water way at San Souci and built a park. What was in plan was much better.

#2 don't worry the people of Soufriere will soon be mourning the death of Chastanet political career. He told them the they also owe him a debt for having the Taiwanese put a few lights at the Soufriere Stadium built by the SLP.

Suddenly signings are happening for all sorts of projects that were long thought to be dead-in-the-water. Witness Ezekiel standing in front of a heavily forested area telling us it will soon be the sight of a spanking new hotel (note that they have not been able to deal with the Le Paradis situation).

And by the way, whatever has happened to their half billion Airport Project for which taxpayers have already begun to pay?

Elections are bringing a frenzy of ti canal projects and convenient promises of bigger thing to come - eh bien bon!

Do we always have to see things in terms of UWP or SLP? Somebody (whether it's local or forign) had the balls to do something with unflattering, dirty, stinking Castries; and instead of saying "go for it", here we are complaining about whose original idea was it.
Politics has turned St.Lucians into two camps of idiots.

We don't even know a good thing eventhough it jumps up and bite us in the ass.

People I don't believe anybody is against the government signing any project although people support the party of their choise. What I understand the people are saying is, why all of a sudden so many projects are springing up so close to election when parliament is soon to be desolved? Why not complete all the projects that was promised in the past, like the general hospital, St Jude hospital, VF Arbatior(meat processing plant) the Air Port project, all the hotels, Hess Oil Refinery, all the road and bridges distroyed by Tomas, desilt all the rivers etc, etc.

People have to be suspicous of the mode of operation of the UWP, because with all the yrs they ruled us that was always how they operated they would wait until close to election to begin most projects just to fool us. Some of these projects would be discontinued after election. They waited close to election to start a measly police station at Babonneau and they just began to scrap and distroy the poor people garden saying they making playing field. Easy Cal will pay for that don't worry.

Each yr they present us with a budget, moneys are allocated for different projects. Where are these projects? I remembered in 1978 I attended Morne Tech, UWP gave each and everyone of us scholarships with an allowance every month, just because election was the next yr and they still loose.

And what about the geothermal project in Soufriere? - Cheap and plenty electricity - They were supposed to have begun construction on it months ago. What's happening with that project?

The last blogger is right - PROMISES, PROMISES, and MORE PROMISES. St Lucia's politicians imitate everything America does and both countries are falling apart. Both countries think ALL their voters are fools and easy to fool; and sometimes I think these dirty politicians are right about that.

Wake up people and start thinking for yourself!!

For persons who still believe that the UWP will win again this election should also know that true Power comes from God not money especially not the Taiwanese millions.

King and his cronies claim that they are using a love and honest campaign but who are they fooling? Take a visit to the Union junction where Dr. Ubaldus Raymond arranged to have the long overdue dangerous potholled road repaired only to be told that he has to stop repairs by Ministry's orders. Not to mention that Mr. King was in the area after five long years of neglecting the people of Union and Amandale who gave him support last election.

Not surprisingly, the work was ordered to stop after his visit to the area this weekend. Yes, St.Lucians this is the King people are calling nice and even immortalizing him as Springer did on DBS this weekend. Such orders by this government against the efforts of Dr.Raymond reflects high class POLITICAL BULLYING. St.Lucians, the people of Castries North please do the right thing and vote this man out of politics once and for all.

This type of political bullying by persons who should know better captures very well characters that represent Wolves in sheep's clothing! The day of reckoning is coming soon.

Mr. King we the residents of Union and Amandale are not dotish or dumb. Keep your political trickery to yourself and your Cabinet of men. Yes, we accomodated you during your campaign last election but you neglected us when you got into office. Please note that we are not about to be lulled into a state of idiocy and dumbness.

We the residents of Amandale and Union are bright, smart and intelligent. We will not tolerate cheap tactics like the recent one where Dr. Ubaldus Raymond efforts to repair the potholes in the Union area was stopped at your request.

We are able to judge for ourselves the greed, corruption and selfishness that are now being passed by this government as good governance. Mr.King I pity you and your incompetent group of men who represent the current UWP. Please note that this election will be determined by the Divine Hand of God, and not by the monies being spread around by this government to fool the impoverished and disadvantaged. I have hope that Dr. Ubaldus Raymond will win this election through God's power and might. Who can doubt that God has the power to allow victory and a testimony to not only the SLP candidate, Dr. Raymond but by extension the St.Lucian people?

I trust that our young people and older individuals will vote a man of integrity, leadership and intelligence to office...vote DR. Raymond.

It is unfortunate that Mr.King would resort to such desperate attempts in the eve of General elections.

I wish the very best to politicians who reflect qualities of integrity, discipline, leadership and truthfulness.
