The Labour Code has become law in Saint Lucia, which is struggling to stand on its feet with no money to pay salaries. One of the reasons why Kenny Anthony was so desperate to enter office as Prime Minister; is that his wife drafted the Labour Code, or copied it rather, because she took it wholesale from another country and transplanted it into a document called the Labour Code of Saint Lucia. She had been paid a deposit on the price of the drafting (copying) of the Code and the Government of Saint Lucia agreed to pay her the balance of over one million dollars when the Code becomes law.

It is now crunch time and she needs her money. So her husband, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, had to wrest control of Saint Lucia by whatever means necessary to ensure that the Code is passed so that his wife can get her money, because it was clear that the Government of Stephenson King from whom he stole power, was in no hurry to pass the Code.

Now how can a Prime Minister as he was when his wife got the contract to draft the Code, allow his wife to be the drafter of such an important document, is not this a classics case of conflict; and what are the his duped followers (including several lawyers and supposed academics) thinking? As long as it’s Kenny who does it it’s all right? You bunch of goats; Kenny is destined to bring Saint Lucia to its knees, economically, politically and socially.

Everything has a price; this is the price Kenny Anthony will pay for cheating the people of their duly elected representatives and forcing a Labour government on them!

The Labour Code is now law in Saint Lucia and Cable & Wireless has sent approximately 90 workers home; some hotels are cutting back heavily on their contingent of staff, private companies are issuing onerous contracts and Windward and Leeward Brewery in Saint Lucia (which is a strong hold of support of Kenny Anthony’s Labour party believe it or not) has increased the cost per case of all of its products (beer, malta, shandy etc) by over $5.00. All of this turmoil is happening because the Labour Code is not in sync with the reality of life in Saint Lucia.

The economy and employers cannot support the implanted provisions! Despite its unrealistic and onerous provisions, the Labour Code came into force so that the wife of Kenny Anthony, Rosemary Antoine Belle, could get her pay from the coffers of Saint Lucia, whilst private companies have to lend money to the same Kenny Anthony to salaries.

On the heels of the Labour Code will comes VAT! Saint Lucians will be expected to pay 15% more on most goods and services, whilst the recommendation by the Ministry of the Public Service was that they get 0.00% increase in salary.
This follows the “weeding out” from all sectors controlled by government any persons believed to be connected to the United Workers Party.
Scores of private contractors were dismissed from the Castries City Council for no good reason. Others are being victimized in various government departments and the Labour goons see nothing wrong with that?
How long will Saint Lucians be made to suffer the weight of Kenny Anthony’s administration on their backs especially when they were not validly elected? Because Labour was not validly elected, the natural law of nature dictates that their tenure in office will be a journey to the heights of misery and disillusion! It does not pay to cheat!

As said by the blogger above, Kenny does everything for Kenny and St. Lucians come last. People being fired left, right and center, VAT being implemented while Kenny goes to London with his wife on a joyride to "advise" the athletes! What a joke - someone to advise atheletes who runs the 100 metres in 3 minutes 11 seconds !

The same way it is said above that there is a connection between his wife and the Labour code the same way we know that all the anti family, pro abortion policies that his wife supports are going to become policy and legislation for St. Lucia - further killing our familes.


The SLP's victimization of Sarah Flood Beaubrun because she did not support those policies has come back to haunt them.

Kenny Anthony's arrogance when faced with a different viewpoint from the only minsiter who was successfully implementing her tasks is now still evident in how he runs his failing Administration.

After fixing Victoria's A&E Dept and bring it to a world class standard and saving St. Lucian's lives, starting the first shelter for Abused Women, bringing attention to mental health issues, starting the first successful Mother to Child HIV prevention program, managing and opening the Bordelais Correctional Facility on time and on budget - the Kenny Anthony Administration then fired this brilliant woman because she was not a "butt kisser" like the other female minister in that Administration.

St. Lucia is paying the price as Kenny's arrogance, incompetence, fiscal madness and "Kenny first, second and last" attitude is on display for all to see.

We were warned when he and his cronies/hacks attacked Sarah - now we are paying the price for their focus on their personal agendas instead of St. Lucia.

Another reason why Kenny had to be in office by any means necessary is because he wants to force the Privy Council out of action without a referendum. I am no lawyer but as far as I have read and understood, he has filed an action in the Court of Saint Lucia whereby he wants the Courts to say that the Saint Lucia Constitution has an error in so far as a referendum is required to change the section that requires a referendum to remove the Privy Council.

He wants to change the Constitution by asking the Court to declare that it has an error and then apply to the Court to correct the error. 99% of Saint Lucians do not know that their right to a referendum is being challenged by the man who is their Prime Minister.

VAT was advertised on every Radio and talk show programme, there were community meetings and all. Why is not the proposal to remove the Privy Council without a referendum being advertised in the same way? Why is it being advertised in two issues of the Gazette which no one reads? Why the secrecy?

Why the haste to implement t the CCJ, just so that Kenny can say I did it? And who is the CCJ, are they not “his boys”. It will be a disastrous day in Saint Lucia when the CCJ becomes Saint Lucia’s final court. Kenny and the others like him in the Caribbean will have full political and judicial control over you people in Saint Lucia and even if you run to the court for him, it’s his “boys” whom you will face. The Privy Council has no interest in the politics of Saint Lucia; they will give their judgments impartially! Is that not a less risky deal?

The blogger above has hit the nail on the head.

The Caribbean has a liberal/progressive/socialist elite within the political class, the media and the academia that has failed the Caribbean since Independence.

When last have we seen any real improvements for our poor and destitute with these people in power. The streets of Kingston, Georgetown, Castries are full of the homeless and mentally unbalanced.

These socialist elites are squeezing our middle class more and more as they borrow and spend, talk and travel.

All of their policies and management are about their own self aggrandizement and their glorification.

We have watched the Caribbean disintegrate undel their incompetent leadership and the CCJ is just one more tool for these self centered elites to have total
control over the courts and our lives.

Kenny is sneaking the CCJ through in the same manner he tried to slyly push through the abortion policy without informing St. Lucians or having a referendum.

The only problem is St. Lucia no longer has a Sarah Flood Beaubrun around to represent their interests and do what is right.

Many people believe that the High courts in Saint Lucia and the Court of Appeal are manned by people with political preferences.
They do not apply the law; they stretch, bend and twist it creating bad precedents and poor jurisprudence just to achieve a desired result. Saint Lucians are not blind.

They know that there is no true separation of powers between the politicians and the judges. Look who is speaker of the House in Saint Lucia, the same person who represents all Labour party litigators whether they have a case or not and that same person has sat as acting judge! He is the same person who is known to take every “weak” judge to lunch as soon as they arrive in Saint Lucia; thereby patronizing them for obvious reasons. Now they have appointed Mario Michel, a well known Labour Politician to the Court of Appeal.
What the hell is going on in this place? No one who has walked a political party line should ever sit as judge, period! Saint Lucians should reject the CCJ unreservedly!

The High Court and the Court of Appeal have shown that they are incapable of applying only the law; they apply their personal, political and social affiliations instead.
I sit here in the USA and wonder what kind of silly judgments are being churned out of these courts. Saint Lucian lawyers are a bunch of cowards. They accept these silly decisions without a fight!
They should stand up against this low quality of jurisprudence and bad precedents and rally together; but then how can they. From what I am hearing, everyone in Saint Lucia has a color, including judges, priests and children: you are either red or yellow! Whatever happens, please no CCJ!
