"I will protect then to the best of my ability"

What the Prime Minister really means is " I am incapable of generating growth in the St. Lucian economy so I will just borrow, borrow, borrow and borrow again and again until the lenders will no longer give St. Lucia any money then I will leave the pile of brown stuff to Phillip and future governments." Lol !!

Man, I will really miss Dr. Raymond's contribution in Parliament. Hope the others can do as good a job as Dr. Raymond.

What was this "good job" that Dr. Raymond did in Parliament? Give us one example. I don't remember it! Why is that? I'm not a forgetful person. Awaiting your example. JOJOMAN.

Blogger at August 18, 7:31pm I too will miss Dr.Raymond. Heard his wife on the news she too is very smart and a PhD as well. How could we or rather the government of St. Lucia treat such great minds in this way. I wonder who is or who are threatened by the two Doctors?

Superior intelligence is not necessary for success; you just need to be over a certain threshold of common sense. It is funny to listen Kenney Anthony referred to UWP’s Castries South Guy Joseph as a bus driver. This is exactly what is so wrong with Kenny and his SLP bandits; they swathe themselves with impressive university degrees, in an attempt to hoodwink St.Luicans into believing they are perfect and the brightest, when in reality they are a bunch of undercover criminals lacking basic every day common sense!

There was an interesting article in another Caribbean newspaper on the ineffectiveness and cluelessness of Kenny Anthony and the Labour Party Administration.

Unfortunately there were too many "big words" , too much opinion without enough facts. Yet interesting reading and I quote some:

"the centralization of behind the scenes political and economic power play is a mafia type operation"

So glad someone else noticed that St. Lucia's political power lies in the hands of a narcissistic incompetent and a cabal of hacks each looking out for themselves.

All Kenny Anthony Administrations , when making decisions, have worked on the principle:

What is the best decision for Kenny's purposes?
What is the best decision for Kenny's hacks? Then last:

What crumbs can we give the people?

Given the options on a big issue which could result in the creating of 1,000 jobs by making a decision focused on our people the Kenny Anthony Administration will instead make a decision losing 100 jobs just so the SLP big shots can benefit in their political agenda.

Bitter days are here again !

It is the PHDs of the Caribbean who have us in the mess we are in today.

The revolving door between the political and academic class means the same individuals who are destroying our countries by destroying our value system are the same ones backing each other in their incompetence.

Whether in CARICOM or at UWI or in the various Parliaments we cannot point to ANYTHING that these people do to ensure the better quality of life of our people.

Blogger above, looks can be deceiving. It may be that the PhD's are not given the right opportunities to advance progress. Simply put it may be that the politicians are using them for their hidden agendas and expectedly they are being viewed negatively. Barbados is embracing their educated folks and watch how progressive they are when compared with the other Caribbean islands. It's time we embraced our educated ones too and give them the ability to use their skills. The old boys network must be terminated completely if progress is to be achieved.

Blogger above my thoughts exactly. Wasn't Dr. Raymond treated that way by a government persons are claiming is a party of PhD's and intellectuals? Is it really a party of intellectuals or is it a party that uses PhD's, masters etc for their warped agendas so the old boys network can get the benefits?

Some may view my comments as betrayal as a Labour supporter but I want to see better in my government. Persons who did not toil hard under the brutal campaign desert should not be given priority over those who worked hard and are also very qualified to hold post by selected individuals.

Angry Labourite who will not vote if things don't change before the next general elections. We criticize the UWP government and rightfully so but look how we are treating our very own.

About Barbados.

Yes it is head and shoulders above the other Caribbean countries but - it is now starting the inexorable slide towards A Haiti like existance.

Why?

Because it is also now abandoning the Judeo Christian principles/tradition that was more embedded in that country than in others like St. Lucia, Trinidad , Jamaica or Grenada.

But we do not want to accept this or talk about it because it would mean we have to abandon the lies we have been taught about our black societies. We have to accept that out academic and political elites in the Caribbean from UWI, CARICOM to the halls of Parliaments have lied to us since Independence.

It is NOT good to have single mother families. It is not good to have womenn with 5 children from multiple men. It is not good to not give a good days work for a good days pay. Itis not good to "whine" away vulgarly at Carnival. It is not good to listen to our so called "artists" belting out vulgar songs about women's body parts. It is not good to make a vulgar woman like Rhianna an ambassador for Barbados. It is not good for the Government of St. Lucia to subsidize the degrading spectacle that Carnival has become. It is not good for the St. Lucia Labour party to appoint two accused rapists to key government posts.

As long as we only play lip service to the idea of VALUES we might as well forget about the progress of our people.

Why can we not see the absolute correlation between the abandonment of our Judeo Christian values and our decline as a culture.

Because we like it so !!!
