George, you as a journalist should be the last person to be jumping into such conclusion, as to the writer's motive in giving an opposite view to your article.

Blogger, instead of telling the writer that he should not be jumping to conclusions, challenge the points he made.Provide evidence that he is not saying the truth. This is how a rational thinking person would deal with the issues he raised.
But then,it is much, much easier to throw out poorly constructed blanket sentences than to provide an analysis of his article with intelligent rebuttals.

The government’s weekend outburst over George’s article is frightening. It showed a trend that Saint Lucians should pay particular attention to, and should not ignore. There seems to be a movement on the part of the government to intimidate journalists. Crazy! Right! Not crazy at all as the evidence is all around. The tone and manner of this all-out attack on George by pals of the government, smacks of a move afoot by the government to hush journalists and by extension the media into silence. This is the beginnings of a dictatorship, something Saint Lucians must guard against. Also, it is a sign of the power elite willing to discredit anything and anyone they believe might show up the government in a bad light. This small clique within the government is proving that they will do anything to hold on to the power they have.

Blogger above this is the paragraph I have an issue with. Is George saying that anyone who has a counter view is subversive? How can one arrive at a conclusion with one side of the story?
