That is the backward type of thinking that St. Lucians have which has led to us constantly having to revisit plans in hopes of extending roads, airports, etc. We cannot build a major bridge to address the issues that we are having now but rather have to envision the issues that we will face in the future. We don't build now for now, we do it with the future in mind.

Yes, if we want growth, which would mean more jobs, we must look ahead and prepare for a GOOD future; if not, we'll never be adequately prepared. For example, St Lucia has already outgrown the facilities we have at HIA.

The same guy wanted to spend 500,000,000 on the airport?

What is Guy's background, engineering, business, agriculture, health services? Can anyone tell me?

Even as we fart around on the incompetence of this SLP and UWP set of politicians there is a bigger tsunami coming.

The narcissistic clueless liberal fool of a President in the USA has finally finished the work of the anti Christian liberals in destroying America - and we are feeling the results - and it will get worst with the collapse of the US dollar.

This is the USA reality as the destruction by 100 years of liberal policies bear bitter fruit :

10% + real unemployment.
The lowest number of people in the workforce - EVER!
Only lower paid or part time jobs available or super rich jobs for the liberal elites while the average worker being squeezed.
The healthcare system now destroyed by Obamacare with millions losing their policies and paying $1,000's more.
The Fed printing $85 billion a month! With 99% going to the super rick liberal elite and the bankers.
All the talk about dismal growth is true and any growth is from printing money and it is going to the super rich and bankers as the government and banks create money out of thin air to feed the rich.
On the social side the breakdown of the family , increased abortion and a culture of death is killing African Americans.

All this under the dangerous fool Obama and we in St Lucia are soon to really feel the pressure as America unravels.

I said it over 4 years ago and it is happening. Ever year is worst and it will get bitter in 2014 and 2015 as Kenny borrows more and more to waste.

I listen last night to the news when from government side was said: the ectra cost to build a 4-lane bridge to a 2-lane bridge is 20% more.
Based on this the decision is right and build a 4-lane bridge.

Why? Just why? Is it because a well-known borbolist did not benefit from a special cut passed to the party underneath the table?

These Labour supporters writing here such nonsense. They just stink. Poor reflection on the Labour party

It is these kinds of people who keep this country so backward. They have a different opinion on a matter; rather than discuss the issues with some level of intelligence; they insult their own fellow St. Lucians. Just a bloody bunch of shit-heads..

It is the UWP that has given Saint Lucia the longest-surviving country-bookie candidates in parliament with sweet F-all to show as achievement. They are all broomsticks and yes-men with most of them being simple-minded idiots.

A nation does not develop just on having roads and highways. Or else, North Korea would have long ago been given recognition as a highly-developed country based on this factor alone.

In this land of the blind saint, St. Lucy, where ignoramuses rule the roost and ignorance is bliss, it is folly to be wise.

That is the same moron who said, at a budget address once, that his hitherto UWP government should borrow millions, then lodge that borrowed monies into some numbered bank(s) accdount to accumulated interest; then pay back the initial loan with the interests accumulated.

Back water, stupid, country bookie, Neanderthal thinking.

Dear God and to think this is the same man who used to make important decisions for the future success of St Lucia!!

During the UWP administration with their idiots on board, we had on average, one drug-related murder per week, a drug lord as a cabinet member and director, an entire cabinet with its hands caught in the national financial cookie jar, an MP lying before the OECS Court of Appeals, and an MP selling patients' private medical records for profit. We all had eggs shamefully plastered and dripping from our faces, and made the laughingstock of the region.

With the mud still stuck between their damn toes, so much for self-government hijacked and commandeered by our khaki-coloured, brown and black quintessential country-bookies!

Yes the bridge is too pricey and, in my opinion, the benefits go to only a few.
