The likes of you are very divisive, and thoroughly sick - ad nauseum; rather than preach peace, you are inflaming!!

There is abundant animosity fuming out of that article. How does that he[p to relieve the pressure we are under at this time? Let the dead bury the dead. Keep in mind all opposition parties oppose for the sake of opposition.

It was damn well rude and an INSULT for a foreigner to take upon himself that role to make himself a national by wresting the title of the first PM from a born and bred Saint Lucian. It is an affront to any Saint Lucian with any sense of pride. It is downright unforgivable.

That historically, remains a social downgrade for every thinking and nationalistic Saint Lucian. In other words, 'I a foreigner knows better than you what is good for you'. There is a price to be paid for this, a perpetual unforgivable humiliation.

Psychologically, the signs are that this nation has never healed from this Vincentian's insult. It is a wound that re-opens every February until Thy Kingdom Come.

You can fool some of the people only some of the time. Because the hurt is felt deep in the mind, it will NEVER die.

Whether the focus is religion or historical reverence statues / monuments are truly controversial-all the time. Ask the Inca descendants how they feel about a Columbus or Pizarro statue in downtown La Paz.
St. Lucia ha d a nice opportunity to streamline a sort of historical coming together from a rocky birth passage by using a monument depicting BOTH Hon G. Charles & Sir. John (perhaps handing a symbolic constitutional scroll fom the former to the latter.

Progressive logic asserts that progressive ideas build on the ideas that precede them- Let's look at an art genre for hypothesis testing.

You tube any performance of "Little Richard" followed by one of 'Sly & the Family Stone, then 'Prince" and finally Michael Jackson -Take a break then watch Jame Brown and the Flames. We may differ on similarities & differences but one thread ties them al -the consumate all out -take no prisoners- complete performer.

Yet, in a timeline you can also se that they each crafted on the work of each other-taking it ever upward or expanding on the craftmanship of each other.

How about Kitchener-Sparrow-Lord Zandolee? Human progress fast forwards when its a togetherness- Irieness.
