That was my first instincts upon reading the story about the team's best showing at this level of competition, to congratulate them as well as the organizers.

The writer is right that the honor bestowed to Bro. George by naming of the stadium after him was the right thing to do. Irrespective of government in power that should be the right decision.

I also cannot agree with him more that government should do all it can, within its budgetary constraints, to support the youth in general and sports in particular. There is no question about the valuable contribution that a well developed national sports programme to overall national development.
