It is amazing how we simply regurgitate the views agendas and terminology by the Western media...arch enemies..clenched fists..This commentary does not seem at all to be informed by a wider awareness of the world or even of President Barack Obama. One would have hoped that persons would have awoken from the Obamamania stuper and hangover and would have then looked soberly at the past and present assessments of Obama. There is no comment on the unprovoked aggression of Obama toward Venezuala(a country once threatened by a US assistant coup attempt). No mention of Obama's position on the CIA torturing and his complicity(through silence and otherwise) in the Israeli attack on Palestinians and in their breaking of numerous articles of International Law. What are progressive black and white organizations saying of him? Did anyone offer a serious comparison of Barack Obama and Cynthia Mckinney(Obama pales in comparison to her in my opinion). To what extent is Barack Obama a departure from America's age old imperialistic agenda. Any deconstructing of the notion of what America calls a clenched fist(people who desire to maintain some self-respect and self-determination in the face of American arrogance, interference and other imperialistic agendas?).
And by the way -"US Vice President Joe Biden was asked by reporters at a summit in Chile if Washington plans to put an end to the near-50-year-old economic embargo against Cuba. He replied 'No'.

In closing, I would like to see a much wider discourse, more informed and more conscientious reporting by our media. It is silly to simply uncritically reproduce American and British news to our people when there are alternative sources which many times provide a complete picture of reality. May i share a few:
www.democracynow.org
www.trinicenter.com - a website based in Trinidad and Tobago which presents a fairly widely informed perspective(s) on international news.
www.killinghope.org -this is the site of William Blum.

Remember we serving people of a particular area of the world economically, politically, culturally, historically, socially. Be informed by this reality in reporting. The priorities of the World biggest imperialist power cannot be the same as that of the exploited nations.
