I believe in tempering justice with mercy. However the judges must be careful that they are not sending the wrong message in their sentencing. If premeditation was established, the defendant should have been given more time even though the mitigation was taken into account.
If judges are sending the message that you can wantonly kill someone and a good lawyer will get you off or at least get you less time. Guess what?
He deserved much more than that! 6 yrs? You guys make it seem like its okay to commit crimes! What impact/what messages are you sending for the public?? It's aiight to kill somebody n when arrested just plead guilty and show some remorse and then all is well?? That's ridiculous!! It sure doesn't look like this was manslaughter to me... he stabbed the guy...and even said the words "I will kill you" what is St.Lucia coming to???

"On top of the victim thrusting with a knife" doesn't sound like manslaughter to me. Isn't if 2nd degree murder, at least?
