We have to stop writing foolishness on this board. What do we St Lucian depend on the government for? What do the government give to us in St Lucian? In America people get welfare checks and they do not have to work, they get disability checks, there are many food banks in America where people get free food etc. What do we get free in St lucia? Are you rich? How comes you defending the rich, i am sure the rich will not support or defend you. When did Obama ever took anything from the rich to give to the poor? I though it was the other way round, when he bailed out the banks and the big car companies. The rich got rich by EXPLOITING the poor, so why can't they pay a little more tax which they can well afford. That is all Obama said, some people have so much money, they will never be able to spend it it their life time, whiles others have none. If socialist is so bad how comes China is the biggest and most prosperous economy in the world? I am not supporting socialist in anyway because i have not taken time to educate myself enough about that system. All i know is now is, China and Cuba has made, and still can make a big contribution to help us in St Lucia, whiles the USA who boast and claim they have the best system on earth is not helping us because their economy is in shambles. Because some of you is now in the USA doing all the dirty work the Americans do not want to do, you all try to forget what's going on home. All what St Lucians demand form the government they elected and are paying from they taxes is to work to create a good economy so that they could make a living.`We are not getting any freeness from the government.

I agree with #4, we fend for ourselves and we hate the rich cuz they hardly give anything back which is the right thing to do being that they are a part of the brotherhood of man.
So I think that they should pay more taxes, it is the moral thing to do, try it and you'll feel good about yourselves.

I will not go as far as saying we hate the rich, because they are making a valuable contribution to society, by providing employment etc. What i do not like is when people who do not think for themselves call Obama socialist because they hear other people say it. Also because some people ran away from St Lucia to America and now they find every fault in the hard working people of St Lucia. The poor St Lucian hard working banana farmer were the ones sustaining St Lucia economy for a very long time, by their hard work. The politicians especially the uwp were just exploiting the poor farmers and was using the farmers money to bluff them to win elections after election. St Lucians are the one of the hardest set of workers we could ever find.

It's really a pity this board is open to people to dismiss as "idiots," those who do not share their negative perspectives of Obama's Presidency. This is not the first time Blogger 2 and 3(who obviously are the same person) has insulted our sensibilities in this way. But this is typical of the way Republicans think and behave. The world revolves on their axis. As far as they are concerned caring for the poor should not be the business of Government, but they don't see the poor as their business either. For them alone, President Obama should sit on his hands and watch people lose thier homes (because of outrageous lending policies by banks) and/or die (because of a lack of health insurance). These are the same people who tried to scare old people by saying that Obama wanted to create death panels. But why be concerned about death panel when you're not concerned about people dying because of poverty or for want of heathcare in the first place? For all their brouhaha about healthcare, they would not admit (for obvious reasons) that the prime beneficiaries of the health care bill would be the same insurance companies - who fought so hard to stop it - because they stand to gain 30-40 million new customers without lifting a finger. They accuse Obama of being a socialist and taking from the rich to help the poor; but the rich became rich by stealing from the poor in broad daylight on Main Street - ask Madoff and Ken Lay and Stanford. Better yet ask the workers who slave on the shop floor for pennies while top management fatten themselves on outrageous compensation packages. God help poor America if these Republicans ever return to the White House.
