Before Mr. Bascomb complains about LIAT service, perhaps he should take a good look at how the government of St. Lucia (in the person of Minister Chastanet) constantly and repeatedly attacks the established regional LIAT and invites all kinds of suitable and unsuitable carriers to come in and take away the market share which makes LIAT's service to St. Lucia economic.
One way and another the eastern Caribbean has proven several times that there is not enough revenue in this part of the world to support even two carriers plying the same routes, yet Minister Chastanet seems to have a vendetta against the regional airline for some reason... could it be that his former Boss in Jamaica, Butch Stewart, is still instructing him to make life difficult for LIAT?
The eastern Caribbean needs unity, not discord, to make life more meaningful as a region, and that includes harmonisation of air travel and accessibility of its nationals for both visit and work.
Perhaps, again, you ought to ask Minister Chastanet WHY he is so bent on attacking and destroying the fragile balance of affordable air travel in his section of the island chain. Is really his aim to have lIAT totally stop serving St. Lucia?
