If these sordid allegations are substantiated and proven true we are in one heck of a pickle in St. Lucia. I hope that the investigations will be thorough, and the powers that be will spare no effort in getting to the botom of this.
The arresting officer must be made to account for his conspiracy to commit a criminal act and for aiding and abetting this brutal crime. All must be made to feel the full force of the law.
As for the cops investigating cops, that is tantamount to "reporting me to me". What good can come of that.
what is happening to this country of ours.Has it come to this where police officers believe that they can just do as they please and nothing can hasppen to them. Don't these men have mothers, sisters, aunts, nieces or children for that matter. i am going on the view that it the incident did take place, one person did not have the heart to say "that's not right and we should not do that to the young lady" how would they feel if it was their child, sister or mother. i am so scared right in this country. All there is to say is let us hope that justice privele.
Anonymous 2 asking what is Guy Meyers is going to do about the issue should be worrying about the damage that Flavia Cherry is doing to the Labour Party. Her credibility is already questionable and her association with the SLP will do the party no good. Already there is evidence that this activist is misleading the people, and I believe when the truth comes to light in this issue Flavia will need to apologies to the women and people of St Lucia.
Anonymous 1, why are we so quick to believe anything negative we hear about the police. I think a lot of people will be embarrassed and will have to take back a lot of the things they have said when the truth comes out in this matter. Remember this is an alleged case of rape; this means that a doctor’s report will be of vital importance in this case. I just watched the DBS Evening News and already residence of the community where the alleged victim was arrested is saying that her injuries did not come at the hands of the police. Something to think about!!
Its funny that the police is being blamed for this matter without hesitation! If we need the police to do their jobs well, then therefore we need to prove to them that we trust them 100% Reading this story really doesn't seem like its all fact...word is she sustained injuries somewhere else and yet still the police reputation is being tarnished! I hope she is lying and when truth comes out I really do hope they make her pay for her damn mouth. The police is not all bad..give them some credit, cause I know for sure there are a few good ones! Before anything Lucians like to criticize and side to the story they choose!! I believe this girl is lying, unless she pictured herself starring a movie and she was the main character!! *sigh* Lucians instead of running yall mouths I think yall have alot of growing up to do!! Stop insulting the police because they do try their best, think about it!!
According to the details in the STAR article the young lady is 22, jobless and has a baby boy. She claims she's living because she wants to see her baby boy grow.
But yet she's partyin till 4am, and quarelling (she said not fighting) with a man, breaking his windows creating such a commotion that a neighbour called police.
Then at 6am police pick her from sitting down by the side of the road ... wearing the same dirty clothes from partying the night b4. Can you imagine a young girl doing that with herself?
Further, did she leave somebody to babysit for her?. I wonder who is paying$$$, and supporting her lifestyle.
I started my submission thus: "If these sordid allegations are substantiated and proven true we are in one heck of a pickle in St. Lucia. I hope that the....." Knowing full well that the investigation was yet to begin. I too share the view that there are more good , concientious policemen in the RSLPF than the few criminals in uniform that tarnish the reputation of the force.
If it is found out that the young wonan fabricated this entire story I reccommend that she be made to feel the full force of the law as well. However, I am also concerned that her actions will make it more difficult for persons who are legitimately aggrieved by the police will be more reticent and result in a free pass for the vagabonds in uniform. Lets not throw away the baby with the bath water.

I would not rate her as a model parent.
