Listen you blind fools, I mean Stevens and the person who wrote the one comment. This project is very shady and smells stink.Nothing about it is above board. You have the government handing over one of our major sources of revenue"airport tax" some a company that is conceived in sin. The 700 million repayment can take care of many ills in this country. Are the directors of A&M Seven days or what? Suppose the airport taxes cannot service the cost/loan who pays. Why not take this to parliament, why is the government scared to so?I do not think that we can proceed with this at this time especially as Chastanet riddles off figures about visitor arrivals and the some hotels are being run by the banks. I think the government should take this to the parliament especially as they are being called all sorts of dis-honorable names!

Though I supported the UWP and voted for Montoute in the last election, I have to agree with Anonymous #2 on this. We do need to upgrade Hewanorra airport, but I too doubt if we will be able to make the repayments via the airport tax route, as it will take a tremendous effort to make Hewanorra an important transit airport to pull in this amount of tax revenue. This should have been done years ago, and should have begun with the closing of Vigie Airport (now Sir. G.F.L. Charles airport). It may now be too late with Barbados and Antigua now so well established and placed. But the main point here is the manner in which this is being undertaken which does not seem above board and which the majority of St. Lucians believe is not. So for this reason it should be taken to parliament and debated. Our politicians must never forget that government of the people, should always be run by the people and for the people. Also, in future, any project of this magnitude under any government, should be taken to parliament.

On the basis of logic alone, this project is mired in difficulty.

Economically speaking, if the project depends on revenue generated by the identical project, but the method of revenue generation (steep price increases) has the obvious potential of undermining the arrival figures to pay for the project costs, then the standard-six level of project financing thinking at play here suggests that were heading in the wrong direction.

Next, the is the very fishy relationship between the actors involved and the company granted the contract.

Then there is the fact that the lowest tender offer was not entertained. We don't know why.

None of the Cabinet Ministers appear to have any deep knowledge of economics nor finance. So, if the technocrats have provided answers that the ministers want to hear, we have a fait accompli.

Way to go St. Lucia on such a massive project.

Finally, with all those country bookies and idiots that support King and his foolishness, a better debate might well be expected from the Senate instead of on the floor of the Lower House.

And Kenny does???? Rochamel and cost over run is what has placed this financial burden on the country. It's like Bush and the Repbulicans blaming Obama!

What I do not like about this is the ANONYMOUS barrier that you guys hide behind. On matters of such importance to the nation, I do believe that the citizens would pay more attention to your wise words of advise, if they knew from whom it was coming. If they knew that the advise was coming from a person who is knowledgeable about what we are discussing here, they would pay more attention, than thinking this advise coming from some quack. Don't you guys think so?

Stevens, are you an idiot or what. You think Kenny is the ONLY one who questions the contractual decision made by King and his henchmen. You think Kenny is the only one who despises this current government making decisions on our behalf. Think again and crawl back under your rock.

Is Kenny Anthony a Friend or Foe of St Lucia?

My Answer: Foe!

What has become surprising over the past three years is the annimosity towards Dr. Anthony by a large segment of St. Lucian society.

I thought by now it would have subsided but it just keeps on growing. Why is this if so much is going wrong in our country?

Kenny does not lead by example. He has wronged and has failed as a Minister of Finance.

He has gone back on his word and his excellent verbal promise on term limits. His word is not his bond.

Therefore he can't be trusted (a) either to manage our financial affairs without losing enormous sums like $45 million to swindlers or to fix our economic problems. He is out and out an academic lawyer. He has not won a single case as a lawyer in court.
(b) He cannot even write a proper contract document drawing on his knowledge with three law degrees. His knowledge of the law has not been very useful to him as a PM.

(c) He is too one-sided. He concentrates of winning legal contests, whereas he does not seem to see that these are not giving him any traction and do not make him any more popular. In other words, HE CONTINUES TO FAIL TO RESPOND TO WHAT THE MAJORITY OF NON-SLP ST. LUCIANS WANT.

(D) Finally, Dr. Anthony, has failed miserably to tell all the people, what mechanisms he would put in place to remove or reduce the financial, budgetary, and administrative problems that his governments faced in the last two terms. THAT MEANS HE HAS NO CLUE ABOUT WHAT TO DO, JUST LIKE THAT JACKASS WE HAVE FOR A PM.

So all that Dr. Anthony is expecting to do if he wins is to continue where he left off. This may be a little better than what we have now, but that puts St. Lucians between a rock and a hard place.

The situation is totally hopeless without the election of a new party or with a LARGE NUMBER OF INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES WITH GREATER EXPERTISE THAN WHAT HAS BEEN PRESENTED SO FAR, getting into office.
