I think this should be the last thing on the minds of business people after this raging crime situation in this country,to be selling guns as a show what massages are you sending out there to the community and the wide world that it is alright to for St. Lucians to parade like fools with a gun in their hands.

This is a shame but that's what happen when we have morons running the country.

What the he'll is going on in St Lucia, you do not need a secondary education, or a white man to inform you that this is an in appropriate commodity for sale at this time in the country.
Nonetheless toy guns are inappropriate toy period, all over the world in more develop countries such as Australia, United Kingdom, USA, and Europe it is illegal to sell or carry a toy or imitated lethal weapon (gun).
Mr AG this needs to be address as part of the new legislation in the strategy to tackle gun crime in the country.

The importation of these toy guns are serious indictment on the government. A most irresponsible action in the current violent crime epidemic.Iam sure there are importation licences which need to be issued, therefore this wanton abandonment of responsibility falls firmly on the government.
The other element of our society who must take responsibility for this action is the commercial section who ordered the toy guns
The third group with some responsibility is the parents who purchase those toy guns for their children.
Lucians we are loosing the plot or worse we have already lost it.How long is it before a person is killed by the Police mistaking one of those toys for a lethal weapon?
Primeminister King, Minister of Internal Security Guy Mayers and the other government ministers you are liable for this action. Its time for you all to face the the court of citizen opinion please elections now. How many more must die before you all realise you are not up to the job of governing this country.

I quite agree with everyone who says that this was an inappropriate toy to be sold at this time. In fact, I believe that it is a toy that should not be sold at all at any time, and I fully blame the parents who bought it for their children. As the kewyol saying goes "Si pa ni soutwiez, pa ni voller".
The law has been there for as long as I have been alive, so I cannot blame this government for letting the importers bring them into the country. What now has to be done, as a couple of ANONYMOUS writers suggested, is for Cabinet now to make the importation illegal by changing the law. Another thing that worries me very much also, is the fact that we seem obsessed with WHITE dolls for our black kids. What do we do about that?

Forget about all the commentary on the issue. The main question is why was the importation of such items allowed in the country in the first place? It is as simple as that !!

if the blind( those who are responsible for preventing this) leads the blinds(youth) they both will fall into a pit ... however there is hope for st lucia ... i am here , i am still around

Perhaps toy guns are hazardous in the hands of the wrong people. However I am wondering whether the Police are actually fighting crime. read between the lines: When someone calls CID to report the identity of a suspect of a particular crime the suspect still remains free to roam the streets. One wonders, did the Police even act on the information. A young man was gunned down in the Conway area. The Police got the information as to who committed the act, but still, the perpetrator is not apprehended. This is not the first time this has happened. Are the Police really serious? I think all the talk about cracking downs on criminals is just that..."talk." And to think they want people to risk their lives to come forward with information...that is quite laughable!

While the Police are concentrating on toy guns, people are dying by real bullets! A young man was murdered execution style in Conway, the Police was informed about who the culprits, but they never moved on the information. So what is the use of telling them anything? I think the Police Chief is delusional to think that his men really wants the public to assist them in fighting crime. The thing is when you cal them to tell them who did the crime they sit on their backsides and do nothing. I am beginning to think the Police are in cahoots with the criminal element of this country. Maybe they are trying the destabilize the country altogether. Before Mr Francois check for the criminals on the streets I think he better check out his officers, because it appears that some of them are downright crooked. Now they are talking about toy guns. What a joke.

Linwall James keeps harping about the crime hotline. I called the crime hotline on New year's Day and it was "unavailable." Is that hotline really operational? Maybe the next time the chief himself will have to be informed about who the murderers among us are. I think the Police are getting the information they need but they are just not moving.

No, "morons' are not running the country. The country is being run by "Philistines" who are simply enjoying the barbarism that is going on among us. Seriously, they do not give too hoots what happens to the people as
long as their own families are safe.

Typical Lucian behavior.... Yet still we blame the nations' leaders. Please understand that it is the common folk around us who for our own selfish reasons engage in such activities. I understand that assou square is a prime time to make money as vendor but with all that is going on in the country you still find it appropriate to sell guns. Now tell me why should the leaders take blame in a case like this. They are not the customs officers allowing these items to pass. So even though a law is put in place it is up to us the common folk to enforce it. Always remember that.
