The family members should have been arrested for obstructing the work of the police.
That's always the case. People complain about crime and when the police do something, the family members of the suspects are alway quick to criticize the actions of the police. I'm sure the relatives of these guys were very well aware of what they were up to.
You can't believe one word of a criminal family who lives depend on the drug trade, as much as you would Federicks who can take the gang members in and off the streets like Malcolm X. That is with a wave of his hand.
The lying riff-raff cannot be relied on to tell the truth. Never!

I read through this article and one of the things that baffled me was the fact that the commissioner did not say that the guys fired bullets at the police. He said That they found a gun in the "critically injured" suspect's residence after searching. In My opinion if the man tried to escape through the back window and starts running shouldn't your first order of action be to run behind him if he is unarmed?Our police officers are trying to do their job understandably, but what is a job if you cant do it right.
If you are running away from the police and they ask you to stop and you don't, then you have to take a bullet. In the US, they don't even try to maim you. You are shot dead. Are the police in the US barbaric? They have a lower crime rate!
You live by the gun, you die by the gun. It's an ugly underworld.
They were believe to be armed and dangerous so the police had no choice and do what they had to do. is either kill or to be killed. The family who are speaking out were they their and saw all what happen or just hearsay

First of all, the police needs to get their job done, and get it done in the most accurate way possible. Those of you who are critizing the family of the victims, you should first put your self in their shoes and just view it from their stand point. From what i have read, i see no reason whatsoever for the police to shoot at the two victims, further more to kill one of them. it is said that the police had a warrant to search the victims residence, and they discovered firearms at the residence as well. if that was discovered in truth, and there was need to shoot at the victims, why was the blood washed away at the residence, by the police and disinfectant was spread there as well. never before i have heard of such. Its unbelievable, some of us are really quick to take sides at different situations, we all need to sometimes sit back and analyse situations. There are crooked cops in the force as much as there are good ones. stupid individuals willcomment and say the families were profiting from the drug money and so forth. I REALLY NEED TO SAY TO YOU GUYS, THE BIGGEST OUT OF THE MANY GANGS IN ST LUCIA IS THE FORCE. Take a walk in the ghettos those of you who are behaving ignorant, there are criminals who are actually driving ministers of government vehicles, are sons of them, relatives of them, and they are part of the ghetto. Think of it, WHO ARE CRIMINALS REALLY? is it the guys in the blocks,who wears the ballbear chains,jordans shoes, lacoste pouch, nappy hair, or those in coat and tie, (in society). WE dont even know and we certainly not sure. my question is why are the police targeting the guys on the street only and not some of their own kind. We all are living our lives on a huge lie. We dont even know who to trust. The families of the individuals are right to speak as much as the officers are right to shoot and kill.
we are so quick to judge, but dont look at only this situation, look at others that have occured and we never hear a conclusion to the story. things happen so often in stlucia, and it just pass like a breeze.Why haven the policed shown the firesrms discovered the residence of the victims, normally thats what would happen. is it because there were never really any firearms there? where is the proof that the guys were part of the shooting of the guy mentioned. Dont the family members need at lesst some proof , so they could at least get some closure with the situation. come on!!!!

What? 11 and 12 sound like they are in the drug trade. We hear the same foolish arguments when the police make raids in places like Tivoli Gardens, Jamaica.
People who profit and benefit from the drug trade are incorrigible liars whether they be politicians, mothers, daughters, look-outs etc.

From what i heard these guys are well known to people in the area. They were robbing people all the time, some times SSU just have to kill a few to take back the country. Because these guys eh care about nothing but robbing people hard working pay.
Vernon Francois is a vicious liar.The young men who were shot by the "black squad" arm of the police force were arrested on the day before and released.Also a group of young men from Bois Patat were searched on that same day but nothing incriminating was found on their persons. There were no search warrants in the works and no weapon was found at these guys residences. That gun was planted there to make the public believe that they had a legitimate reason to kill these guys. It was an ordered execution and Francois knows it. Now if that is the only way Francois and his henchmen can fight crime then that shows the level of the Police Force and this ailing government.The Police had no right whatsoever to shoot these young men. If they were suspects in a crime, the lawful thing to do was to arrest them. What makes Francois think that he and the Police are above the law?

it is with much saddness I read this article and the many comments which reflect a total polarization of society.
I would urge caution on both sides of the divide, the family has aright to challenge and complaint about action they thing was unnecessary by the police resulting inthe death of their love one regardless they were or are suspected criminals.
It is the responsibility of the police to fight crime within the law of the land regardless the upsurge in criminal activity - the force must act decisively but on balance not to further aleinate the public confidence.
We all must seek tranparency and accoutability but also allow the the investigation to be carried out thoroughly to determine why in the execution of a warrant two people was shot resulting in the death of a suspect.
The idea of throwing insults around about the police and the suspects family is not valuable contributions to the fight against criminal activity and ensuring our policemen perform within the law of the land. St. Lucia is no different to any other parts of the world in that there is criminals and their families and protectors of them in society. Also there is a small number of corrupt cops but the only way we can defeat both activity is by being vigilant as a community and demand tranperency and accountability. It also means we must cooperate with the police in sharing info about criminal activity in society and within the force we are aware of. What we must stop is the allegations on both sides of the fence which has been done time and time again because we will get the same results.
There are good cops and bad cops. There are no good or bad criminals.
Those mothers and relatives who depend on vermin to make a living should start finding other ways to surviver rather than being predators on their neighbours and other people. Give decent people a break.

Is people that are not in st. Lucia and don't know what is happening typing all the crap on here. People I talk to in st. Lucia actually are rejoicing that they took those guys off the streets. If indeed from what many people say these guys did so many crimes.... you live by the gun you die by the gun.
If you run from the Police, the only way they can catch up with you is to shoot you.
If you have done nothing wrong, you would not be climbing out through a window, or the police would not be at your door armed.

Police continue to do your job. We need to get rid of those criminals on our streets and in our communities. Two more of these police shootings and the criminals and their families will recognise that the police mean business. Mothers, if you had nutured sons and daughters to be productive citizens and given them a good quality of life, with fathers in the homes to assist you to raise those kids, you would not find yourself depending on them for your survival through the drug trade. Police do not come almost two days in a row if there isn't something wrong with you or the neighbourhood. If the first time they came, they let you go, it is probably because you were given notice!
Somebody told you they were coming and so they found nothing to hold you. But if the police come before daybreak and you run, man what are you running from? Why you running?

All of these conspiracy stories are making me sick, because I don't know whether they are true or not. This is not good because it gives the excuse that the criminals and their cohorts need to pursue and perfect their "craft". If I was Richard Frederick and Guy Mayers, I would resign from office as a favour to the people. This is not to say they have done anything wrong as I have no evidence of that. It's because they will NEVEN be seen to be doing anything good, in the eyes of the people.
The only person on the island who does not know that there is a drug baron in the cabinet is the PM.

St. Lucian men should stop acting like dogs making children and making the women have little choice to go to bed with other men, to feed the children left by those dogs.
Without proper fathers, the children make other children to feed the jail cells. Bad education, bad parenting, and malnutrition make for semi-literates who can only make a living by getting into drugs. The drug baron in the cabinet is too happy to make money out the misery of others.
