It is high time we see challenges to government reckless and callous decisions with an argument job creation. I ask at the cost of what this is simple selling the birthright of every St Lucian for to pieces of silver that do not benefit any of the citizens today or in the future. Why do our politicians regadless of which colour in office continue to pursue the same failed policies in the name of job creation which never materialise or if disappears in thin air within a period of five to ten years.
We continue to sell St. Lucia to the higher bidder with no regard for future generation - be warned if we the people of St. Lucia do not stand up and fight now in a few years we will be mere servants to foriegners to have bought our lands from us and then economically enslave us and become our masters as they would be electing our so call governments. You may say well they will do a better job than our own as is demonstrated in their actions with Rochamel, now Sugar Plantation.

Tourism Minister Allen Chastanet is said to be the most frequent and luxurious traveler, thanks to most of his trips being booked and paid for by the St. Lucia Tourist Board with our $50 million annual marketing budget.

Many in the industry don’t see the need for all his expensive overseas visits, but Chastanet talks a good talk. Plus, he has his Public Relations people praising him like he is Tourism’s Godfather. And then there’s the selective satellite tourism statistics (based on a dissimilar Bermuda model) that are always skewed to make him look good.

That’s Bread in our Baskets
