Someone is trying to butter up the tourism image here in St. Lucia in order to deflect the current security status. There are conditions to Norwegian coming back to this port which are not clearly noted in this article. It is important to note that Norwegian will not return if the current rate of crime continue to escalate.

The other huge joke is that here is a man whose narrow self-interest before becoming tourism minister was out there criticizing cruise tourism. His friend was in hotel business. Now, all of a sudden cruise tourism figures are good news.

This man like Kenny knows so little about economics that he believes that increased numbers of even more hotels is the answer and panacea for all our troubles. Yet, the evidence is all there for those who are not blind. Unless the ordinary folk can get involved in the number one industry they will engage in deviant behaviour because they are not benefiting directly from it! A well-known statistic regarding tourism is less than 20 cents in every dollar spent by the tourist remains in Saint Lucia. Let that shyster do a study to prove that this is much greater. Saint Lucians want a government that will cut the deficit, streamline current expenditure, and cut wasteful compulsive spending.

Saint Lucians want a government that will safeguard our patrimony and restore balance to the environment by promoting among other things the 3Rs (Re-use, Reduce and Recycle).

They would patch all roads, they would give people a lot of small contracts, to dig roads drains, to cut grass along the road side, to build small retaining walls. They are totally oblivious to all the turmoil in the world and want us to be walking around with holes in our shoes and pants just so they can get political power.

Their mentality is no better then those in the "projects" in America or the favelas of Venezuela. The gunman in Castries has the same mentality of those who want to see their country fall just so long as their party is in power.
