The toughest task of a Prime Minister is not to do what is right, but to KNOW what is right. The first observation in ruling out the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him for advice......x-cons and x-Dons.

What do the countries assisting us want in return? Technologically they think of us as dinosaurs, so how can you regulate what they do here?

What do they want?
You must be joking to ask such a naive question.

They already own us - via their banks and all aspects of our livelihood - their cops are coming here to protect what they already know belongs to them. THIS IS THE NEW FORM OF COLONIALISM! They even control our politics, our politicians, and our minds; this is true the world over. Egypt and Mubarak was and is still owned by THEM. That's why the poor Egyptians revolted!

There is little that tiny St Lucia can do about this situation, in particular, as long as we continue to lust for all the "goodies" they feed us with television, the Internet, and meaningless twisted movies all day long.
The best St Lucians can do is to realize this as merely a fact of life and try to free our minds ourselves of ignorance and make the best we can out of a VERY bad deal.

The truth is that St Lucia - as well as all the islands around us -
did not get into this mess all by itself - especially concerning our imported extreme crime and drug-money problem. Like the rest of the world, we were systematically brainwashed into this crazed state of mind by the encouragement of greed, materialism, and the gradual breakdown of all the moral values we once possessed.

All these raids is just a bandage to the drug problem, this is just an election ploy, to make the government look good. Frederick is already vote seeking by getting closer to the Graveyard people and his boys because he is starting the same failed “peace and love” football competition. He never see it fitting to ask his boys to bring in their guns, since he is so close to them. He never see it fitting to take away the crack market in St Lucia from his boys. This could done easily by finding some where to put all crack addicts to treat them, rehabilitate, and train them in something positive eg. farming, carpentry, tailoring, masonry, electrician, small engine, etc, etc. if the laws have to be strengthened to allow this to happen, so be it. They could be let out after the process to a job, if they go back to drugs after three tries, then they should be kept in for life. Another thing that could be done to slow down the drug trade, is to regulate the movements of the fishing boats on the island. To many boats leaving the island anytime of the night with stolen goods, drugs and criminals. All fishing boats should be numbered, registered and given a special spot on shore to berth, anytime they leave and return they all would have to report that. So if that is not followed the boat is seized. We all know drugs cannot be stopped but small things like that can control the trade.

I agree the crime situation in St.Lucia is dire.
However we need to becareful where seek help from. It is essential that we do not seek help from sources which bring as many problems as well as solutions.
Forinstance bringing in the Israles brings with it problems which are no concern of ours.
Bluntly,we have no invovement in their war with Palestine. What if Alkeda are aware that there are soft Israele targets in St. Lucia and plan a terroist attack. Afterall Bruce has just brought the Arabs into Choisel.

And here I was thinking that our govt had a plan to fight crime since that was the main reason used to win the last election...What shame. I do hope that Al Qieda will not target us given the rise in terrorist financing in the Caribbean.

Sorry UWP your days are numbered so count them very well including the millions received by the Taiwanese and other millions teceived from major projects to be undertaken soon.

King is not a Prime Minister, will never be and has not proven that he can be...Rick Wayne was right about King that he cannot even lead a Boys Scout; although he is now singing for his supper since his paper has lost popularity.

It is my hope that Dr. Raymond will help take Castries North and St. Lucia to where it needs to be, that is, along with other competent persons on the SLP.

Clip from AP Tuesday, 2/22/2011

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — A Houston man convicted for the 2002 fatal shooting of his 19-month old namesake son after an hours-long standoff with police was executed on Tuesday.

Timothy Wayne Adams received a lethal injection for the death of his son, Timothy Jr., who was shot twice at close range by his father after the standoff at his family's apartment.

The execution took place about 35 minutes after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a final appeal from Adams.

Adams, 42, declined to make a final statement, shaking his head no when asked if he had any final words.

Before the lethal drugs were administered, he mouthed some words to his parents and brother and sister, who witnessed the execution. Adams kept his gaze on his family members and never looked at Timothy Jr.'s mother and her family, who watched the execution from a different room than his relatives.

He let out a series of gasps after the lethal injection took effect. Ten minutes later, at 6:31 p.m. CST, he was pronounced dead.

Adams' sister loudly sobbed and at one point had to be helped into a wheelchair.

"He's going to sleep. He's going to a better place," said Wilma Adams, the condemned inmate's mother.

Emma Adams, the toddler's mother, quietly sobbed during the execution. She and her family declined to speak with reporters afterward.

Timothy Adams was the second Texas prisoner put to death this year in the nation's busiest death penalty state.

Over to you, St. Lucia!
