Was the Minister of Education a member of the Cabinet? Why embarrass his C.D.F. to whom it was claimed over $1M was allocated for carnival and who went ahead and planned Carnival 2011? Is there some kind of disconnect, like the water situation? Now the PM is making himself responsible for the success or failure of Carnival? "Band Leader J.J" or is it also Managing Director "J.J" of W.A.S.A.; under whose management, nearly a year after Hurricane Tomas, still no pipe-borne water in areas of Anse-La-Raye and Canaries!!Is he more interested in Carnival?

Maybe the CDF was not pulling their weight?

Who better to know what is needed, and lead a better organisation for carnival in order for it to be a success but those who are in it? (Band leaders, calypso association, queen committee).

For too many years these entities were fed up with the way CDF handled logistical carnival affairs - everything was handled at the 11th hour!!

My opinion ... CDF should NOT be the one to organise and/or manage carnival. They are not equipped to handle such an event.

I know my oats on that score!!

Maybe taking Carnival out of its original setting, that is, religion and the Lenten season has given the whole affair a meaningless place in our lives and the shape of the year.

If we don't want to go back to the original premise, St Lucia should set up a committee or competition responsible for creating an annual carnival-like cultural festival unique to St Lucia.

This 'fake' carnival will never work and will not last.
