That the elections were so close TEN to THREE says quite alot, considering all what has gone down regarding the United Workers Party. It appears that generally overall Stephenson King is loved, although his actions as a Prime Minister was not necessarily liked.
A mere three seats, considering all that has gone down, and at least four seats won by less than fifty votes.Nineteen and eighteen respectively, in the case of Gros-Islet and Bobonneau, Castries East and Choiseul, also narrow misses.
Considering all that went on, neither Bousquet I think, nor Keth Mondesir, or Allen Chastanet should have been selected to run the seats. Their global reputation regarding the Tuxedo Villas High Court Case was a telling matter, that expressed very serious consequences both for them as politicians as well as private citizens.
A serious stain which they can never erase in Public life.
Richrad Frederick is another matter. There is still a tremendous amount of sympathy for Mr. Frederick, b ecause loads of St. Lucians are aware of many other so-=called high and influential persons in the Private Sector, that have been described in very much or worse than him, and for a far longer period of time, but for these persons NADA. So therefore many of us are just not impressed with that kind of blatant hypocrisy. So for me, I tell the hypocrites, "Go To Hell'.
Clean up all not those you select. Good is good and evil is evil. Case close.

Now i can certainly walk with my head up high. I still found that a great deal of St. Lucians are still "Retarded". Dr. Anthony work not just for your Labour constituiencies but the entire nation. Do not segregate, prove to the opposition that you are doing this for St. Lucians not just for Vieux-Fort or Laborie but for Micoud and castries central, southeast, North and Northwest. I hope Lucians have learnt a lesson from this 5-year UWP trauma.
Sir John served his country well but to place him back behind the wheel at age 84 was not a prudent thing to do. I hope UWP henceforth will find a better leader and team that will be on par and more credible.

Governing Saint Lucia requires skills to manage an inefficient and antiquated Public Service. WASCO, Highways & Health are just a few of the challenges for Kenny over the next months.

TO UWP supporters who writes such venomous things on this blog, I ask one question. Did the SLP won the elections fair and square? If yes, well let's wish the Government well and work toward the progress of our country.
We all live here and call this little rock home. We can disagree politically but we must united on matter that are good for the country and stop allowing our allegiances to dictate our views.
Government come and governments go, Compton and Kenny has learned that and now King has to understand that this the nature of the business he chose as a career.
All the mud slinging at people after they have won an election and wishing doom for them is not in the interest of the country, because any government that fails then we the people feel it socially and economically. That does not mean that we should not oppose the wrong doings of a government, I would be the first to defend your right to do so but to start to curse a government before it has started is to make a statement not only about yourself but whether or not you really want to see the country success.
At the end of a general elections one group forms the government and others(s) form the opposition. We have both and that how our democracy works. No amount of bitterness and calling people names will change that at this point and the quicker we accept that, the soonest we can put country first before our party loyalty.
I sincerely love my country, and proud to be Lucian and any government that is working for all people will attract my support, but equally if they are engaged in illegalities and naked corruption, they will here from me at the ballot box.
I thank men like George Charles and others who fought for me to have the right to cast a vote and have a voice in the elections. If I was around 60 years ago that would not have been the case.
So my fellow st. Lucian, let us put the elections behind us and move forward. There must be a common thread that bind us together apart from our citizenship. Lets us agree that we will stand up for what is right and denounce what is wrong. God Bless Our country!

Come on people this whole Taiwan/China thing is a matter that should be handled delicately and with thought. It was a monumental error for the UWP to switch diplomatic relations to Taiwan in the first place. That decision was essentially geared towards benefiting the UWP party first with the best interest of St Lucia, I think, a distant second. I won't even go into the allegations of the personal financial benefits so derived by the minister of foreign affairs and his cabinet colleagues.
Needless to say I think that the SLP would be well advised to carefully consider this Taiwan/China issue because as a country would would not want to give the impression to the international community that our diplomatic relationships are subject to the whims of the political parties, that there is no coherent foreign policy strategy that whenever the political landscape in St Lucia changes then there is a corresponding change in diplomatic ties with member countries in international community. To do so would make us the joke of the Caribbean.
That said, I strongly feel that embassador Chu should be recalled.
I do not hear the UWPs saying Lets Take Our COUNTRY back. That was the chant of the SLP when they were humiliated last elections. How about that.We have accepted defeat.
