It is with great sadness that I say that. But anyone can see the writing on the wall. The UWP is going to win again.
In your dirty stinking jaw they go win. Why don't you go and wash your jaw with some listerine, the time you coming and talk shate.
Why are you reacting this way to what the person above wrote? Of course in as much as some of us may hate to see this reality play out again, the UWP could well be victorious.
I can see what this person above mean. It's not what "stinking jaws" are saying but what could well be.
I would hate to see this happen but it is starting to look as if this could happen. After Soufriere turnout I expect to see more of that in the Blvd tomr.
So what about soufriere turnout. Third World was there playing so what you expect. It was free so everyone took the opportunity to go. At the boulevard kassav will be there so you don't expect people will turn out in great numbers. You are in no position to say they will win. You must be a flambeau. No labourite will say such,
Saying that Flambeau can be victorious does not make me a flambeau.
I am a clear thinking Saint Lucian who is not poisoned by colour. I have no need for Flambeau but i am not going to delude myself like some in the party.

A win for UWP is only one of many. LPM thinks it can win and NDM too think they stand a good chance. Farfetched maybe but the people who think so don't all have dirty stinking jaws. For me I'm interested mostly in the results in Central, and Anse Laye/Canaries and Choiseul to see what St. Lucian's are made of.

Which Leaders will get the respect st lucia deserve from other caribbean leaders as well as the international world.

The Kind of leaders we elect will automatically be a reflection of who we are as a nation.

As far as I am concern, none of these leaders are qualified to lead my country. Not King, Not, Kenny, Not Prudent, Not Dove. As far Kenny, it's time for him to leave St Lucia the hell alone. I don't think that the country wants more of the same.
I am waiting with eagerness to see how St.Lucians will vote on November 28, 2011. I am still waiting for a debate between PM King and Dr. Ubaldus Raymond, Emma and Montoute, Doddy and Dr. Lewis and Alvina vs Ezechiel.
I can't understand why the matter of debate is so frightening to St. Lucian politicians especially the UWP.
I must commend a few persons, however, for their sacrifice and commitment to our country. Among them are Dr. Ubaldus Raymond, Dr. Robert Lewis, Dr. Gail Rigobert, Dr. Long, Emma Hippolyte, Janine Compton, Musa and Alvina Reynolds. Hope we can see those persons within the ranks of leadership and governance in this country.
Thanks for Mr. King for deciding on a 2011 election date. I can't wait to vote. God is still in the miracle business, and I am looking for a miracle from the Master of the Universe...I simply will not put my faith in the wealth and monies of man to win this election. This election outcome will be determined by God and for His glory.

I totally agree with the bloggers who suggest that we should comment respectfully and not be too overly emotional. I would like to suggest however that I have a very difficult time reconciling the fact that we have a government with, quite visibly, the worst track record in the history of universal suffrage with a significant probability that they will win.
I do not pretend to be a gardeur or a pollster or a savvy political pundit but we should note that governments (both UWP & SLP)failed to be re-elected on an infinitely better track record than this one.
You speak of crowds? The party base and lots of young people (many of non-voting age) will come out for the fun and partying but for every person who is out there, there are perhaps five or six or seven at home waiting to exhale on election day!
And that surely cannot be good for Flambeau!

I can't understand Frederick was elected for a 5 yr term, he resigned then he want us to re elected? Does that make any sense? Boy there is so much nonsense hapening in this UWP government on a weekly basic, it cannot be funny. As somebody said this is the worse government in the history of the caribbean.

Only a clown will resign his ministerial post for "no reason" as he said and come back to ask for re election. As a clown, does that make any sense to you? Only a clown will support Frederick in his nonesense, so what does that make you? So before calling other people clown, check the clown in you.
Here is my two scents for what its worth. The electoral turnout back in 2006 was low. I am not too sure what possesed the SLP to call elections two weeks before Christmas. That was poor strategising on their part. Psychologcally, the mood of persons two weeks before christams is focused on their family, their plans for christmas, their parties and so forth, voting is not necessarily a priority. Therefore, you will get lower turnout. Two, the UWP in many cases beat labour by a few hundred votes. It meant that they are not really governing with a large mandate at present. With the scandals that have recently plagued them, people are fed up. Personally, I see no development in Saint Lucia overall except I am sure a select few are watching their pockets grow. This government has no strategy except that of clinging to power for as long as possible. Hence no election date. Three, despite what King says about investments, outside businesses are leery of investing in St. Lucia. The King administration with its bans of criminals do not have a stellar reputation on the outside. Trust me, I know that those watching St. Lucia from outside are concerned. Our very democracy is being attacked. Finally, for those concerned about the state of our country, use your vote conscientiously and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Do it for country and not for party. This band of crooks must be disbanded at all costs.
I get a feeling that there will be a backlash against both SLP and UWP. My thinking is that there is a storm brewing that is about to stun both of them.

I listened to the UWP rally at the Boulevard, and was I disappointed at the level of girating and funfare over UWP theme of the night..."Ti-Croix an Chou Labour". The leaders of the UWP were encouraging such obscene and salacious words when children were probably still awake. The demoralizing theme started right around 7:45pm if not earlier.
What happens tomorrow when our children go to school and reiterate the same sentiments in the classroom and school ground. What then should we do...The Principal of the teachers Assoc. should address this issue speedily. I hurt for the truest victims in this demoralizing society of ours...the children who we called the leaders of tomorrow. Shame on you PM King! Shame on you Arsene James! Shame on you Spider!

I was really expecting better from the UWP platform on Sunday but was disappointed at the words and chants ("ti-croix an chou labar")from the UWP platform leaders and some members of the crowd. I was looking for an opportunity to say some good things of the party. Oh goodness that was simply distasteful especially coming from Spider.

(1) leaders should lead by example.
(2) it's against the law or a crime to use obscenity in plublic so therefore UWP is commiting as they are accustom to.
(3) On carnival day a female calypsonian was arrested and fined in court for using similar obscenity in plublic.
(4) There are enough issues affect the country which the UWP could talk about instead of using obscenities.
(5) illiterate people with a limited vocabulary are the ones who use obscenities to express themselves, if you take a close look at the UWP from the so called leader down the line, that is what they are.
(6) A government in office should be campaigning on their their proud record for which the public was payimg them. Maybe the UWP do not have any record for them to boast of, so they resort to obscenities.

All the bias St Lucians who have nothing better to do than to spread hate about Dr Athony. I will give you all a simple task, UWP has ruled St Lucia for about four decades, that is about 40 long yrs. Let us subtract the 9 yrs development of Kenny and the SLP from St Lucia and let us see how the country would be. This for all the people who talk all the nonsence about Kenny.
In my opinion,it is a choice between two evils. Neither party has clean hands, both have made major errors. I'm just really disappointed at the way the UWP politicians are conducting themselves. Some of these people are plain criminals and there is no denying that! And to have a leader who defends them at every opportunity is terrible. I don't think Prime Minister King is a bad person, I just don't think he is a good leader. As I stated earlier, it's a choice between two evils. We have to choose our poison. We need individuals who will put St. Lucia's interests first, right now we definitely do not have that.
Most St.Lucians see the short comings in both King and Kenny.Neither is our prefered choice to lead our country. Now tell me if you had to pick some one to lead your country would you describe some one with King's qualifications and ability or that of Kenny Anthony's. Do we really need five more year's of Ministers taking a million dollars a year for their constituency and not saying how they are spending the money.
